Hey all, I found a deal on a HPI Savage 4wd Nitro but it doesn't have a remote control for it. How much do they run normally? And how do I find the one I need?
Thanks

Any 3 channel transmitter (TX) receiver (RX) combo will work. If its an AM system then both the TX and the RX need to have matching crystals.

If its an FM system it may use FM crystals or if its the newer kind that dont use crystals then its just a matter of setting the RX and TX to the same channel.

If you get a 2.4GHZ system well I'm not familiar with these too much. I only own one 2.4ghz system and I buy the RXs that are designed to work with my TX and with those you just go through a simple series of steps to bind the RX to the TX you are using. IDK if you can bind other brands of RXs to your TX, I never tried. Someone else will have to answer that.

In my opinion now days theres no point in not having a 2.4ghz radio. No interference and better range and the cost to get into one is very low.

Not knowing much about a savage, do you know if it has reverse? If so, then you will need a radio with a 3rd channel 3 position switch, if no reverse, then any 2 channel will work for you.

Heres a HPI 2.4 setup that would work if you dont have reverse.

The GT3B from FlySky is real nice for being really really cheap. Its what I run now.
