Hello, Thanks for coming in, I have a Savage 25 that i am currently working on. Unfortunitly i need parts and it seems like an endless list as i keep finding parts i need or that i break.

So far the list of parts i need, and hope to find at the best price and performance possible, with your help :)

NEEDED:

Servo's - both throttle and sterring. Also need the throttle horn for some reason doesn't work correctly.

Throttle Linkage kit - mine is all bent up.

Spur Gear - Mine got chewed even though i lock tighted the bolts, it still came loose.

Engine Mount Bolts - The current ones i got with the truck when i bought it used off ebay were stripped, so I'm getting new ones.

Optional and possibly needed in the future:

Engine rebuild kit, I could never get mine to run properly. Even when set to Manufactorer settings for Tune...

Temp Gun - Now I'm deffinitly getting one so i can tune it and make sure its set to the correct setting for cold weather conditions.

My Main use with this Savage is to Bash, it will get wet, i will play with it in the snow, so if there are also any other tips they would also be appreciated.
Thanks any help given is appreciated!

Come on 12 people viewed with no posts :(

Well i was going to wait to order parts tonight but its getting late, my cart has everything but the servo's and a Tuned Pipe to quiet it down, so ill have to see how things are tomorrow.

sorry for the confusion, I don't know were to start and what to look for in servos. I'm not looking to buy the best most expensive parts, I was hopeing for some reccommendations from people who had the same wants as me. I'm buying all the parts together online so links would be nice. I'm also going to plasti-dip the servos so if I can buy that online I will too. Thanks

Asfor servos I would recommend that you go with the Hitec 985MG for both T/B and steering. Hitec servos From everything I have heard are water resistant and sealed from the factory.

Hitec 985MG

Now for your screw problem, I know you said that you just need screws for engine mount but I would recommend getting a new screw kit from FastEddie for any used rig. Replace your srews and have spares.

Now, As far as a rebuild kit, I wouldn't go that way. You will have better luck just going out and buying a new engine. And as far as a good engine and the best bang for your buck would be the LRP. .28 spec 3

And then, For a temp gun, I have the O'donnell temp gun and like it a lot.

As far as the linkage kit

A spur gear i would recommend that you DO NOT get a steel one. Get a plastic one because it is easier to replace a 5 dollar plastic part from time to time then to rip into your tranny and find out what happened and fix that.

As long as your engine crank is in good shape you could throw a piston/sleeve in it replace the bearings and it should run like new but as LosiLST said it's only a slight bit cheaper and your almost better off getting a whole new motor... 645mg would steer a savage well and really for T/B all you need is something with .15 or better transit time and about 100+ oz. torque

Well my real truck just broke down a lil with a coolant line problem, so I'm a few dollars short from earlier. Thanks for the reccommendations, but i need 2 servo's and i can't afford $140 for just servo's :( I dont mind water proofing them with plasti-dip, are there any cheaper ones you had in mind? Thanks for all the help so far, keep them coming :)

A lot of peole like the Hitec that LosiLST recommended. I use a JR Sport ST126 because it's about the same price/specs and available at my LHS. Are your servos broke or just not with the truck? The stock steering servo is a good upgrade for the throttle/brake if you have it, then you would only need 1 servo.

Ehh, lets just say my servo's got a lil bit wet........ When i dont hit gas or brake or steering on my controler the servo's sort of get a lil Cucu and randomly move around. This time i plan to plasti Dip them, but unfortunitly this isnt my only hobby and my Daily Driver Truck just popped a coolant line, so now i have a lil less money to play with.

Hopefully its just the servo's and not the thing the servo's plug into. :(

Yea that was the word i was looking for :hehe:

Well i wrote the symptoms i was getting, do you think it could be servo's or the reciever? Welp this hobby isnt a cheap one anyways so lets hope i get lucky :hehe:

What about the battery cover isnt it a tight fit with the balloon over the reciever?
