Ok, heres the deal, I bought a Sav SS and a .27XL Sirio lump to go in it, to stop myself abusing my Storm Pro and Collari when i'm not racing and just after some fun.

Can i get the Sirio to tune right, can I hell.

I have run it in properly (I'm not a complete amateur!) and i just cannot for the life of me get it to run right.

It will idle ok, and a low revs its ok, but as soon as you try to put any power down it just coughs...and splutters...and almost dies. The revs will build up slowly with it off the floor or if you accelerate like an iceberg.....

Theres a reasonable amount of smoke at idle.

I'm running 25% Nitro through it (with 18% oil as recommended) I have checked all joints, all seals, changed plugs, changed fuel lines and must have tried everywhere from very rich to about 2 turns (pretty lean) on the main needle and still no joy.

What settings do other people use or what tips do people have?

PLEASE HELP BEFORE THE SIRIO GETS CHUCKED UP THE NEAREST TREE OR THROUGH THE SHOP WINDOW THAT RECOMMENDED IT TO ME!!

Thanks,

Ryan.

How quick is your throttle servo? I had a reallyfast servo and no matter what engine I hooked it to if I didn't adjust my radio when I punched the servo was so quick it just bogged the engine with fuel.

have you tryed leaning out your HSN or your LSN, start with the HSn is nothing check LSN, also check your radio trim and possible air leaks around tank or fuel line, hope it works and i felt you man, my .21 enigne was doing the same until i got my picco .26.

i see you tried your HSN go check the LSN, thats got to be the problem if nothing, reset all your needles to factory settings, best of luck

also make sure your idle is set right and make sure your throttle setup is right when you put it back together.

IMO sounds like the LSN is way too rich. When you set at idle the fuel is building up in the carb too much and when you get on the gas it won't go too fast until the fuel that's built up is used.
The LSN deals with the 0 - 50 % throttle (Idle to mid range), 50 - 100% throttle is HSN.
I had a similar problem with my maxx and I leaned the LSN and that took care of it.
I'd definetly try leaning the LSN...
Alot of smoke on take off is a good sign there's too much fuel building up...
I'd also switch to a 20% fuel with maybe 16 or 12% oil. My Sirio 18 is a screaming demon with "Sidewinder 20% nitro/12%oil, but that's my engine, seems to really love it, plus it's got a rust inhibitor in it and plainly says on the bottle not to use after run oil.
It's in the fuel already,
Like I said that's just my engine and what I run and my Sirio loves it, oh and btw, the sidewinder fuel also makes my Sirio run cool - 220 - 230 ( of course that's what the manual says to run it at, but I'm talking it runs that at WOT for a long time, Idles as long as I want it to at 195-200.)

I have not experienced that one with either of my monsters. I would suggest righening up the hsn slightly then start leaning out the lsn until you get the acceleration you want. I would also go whith what HB said sbout the radio.

Don't do that I am sure you can find a buyer for the engine. Besides a rock works so much better for the windows, no fingerprints and no identifying marks that you threw it...
