~I am buying a O.S. .12 CV-R (P) w/10C Slide-Valve Carb for my NTC3 RTR. I want to know what Exhaust manifold, and muffler I sould get.
~ I am new at this engine swapping stuff, once I get the engine in I am getting the 2 speed opt. for the car.
~Are there any other mods I would need to make to make this engine fit?
~What are all the NEW parts that I will need? Will I need to get a new fly-wheel? A new clutch?

You can run the same clutch and flywheel also the pipe and manifold will work fine. The ae pipe and manifold are some of the best there are to begin with ... X

Did you look at a Mugen Seiki MT .12 bighead????

You might want the power of that .12 instead.

Just a thought.

A couple things I waned to clarify Zoomer

The motor that you are talking about is a Bump Start motor which means you have to have a starter box. There is no Pull start on it.

Also is your current motor a slide or rotary carb? If its a slide carb you will have to make some changes on the throttle linkage.

Last you asked about changes to the motor again you will have to cut the crank. X

Got a quick question, i have been to busy to find out the diff., school, and work keeping me busy, how can I tell if my car is a slide carb or a rotory carb?

slide carb linkage pulls it in and ould side to side

Rotary Carb linkage rotates throttle lever forward and backward

mine is a rotory, and what do i do if the engine I am going to buy is a slide?
What will i need?

Another question, How tight should I tighten down my Glow Plug? Does anyone use a torque wrench? What should I torque it to?

OK OK OK I bet you are ondering what I am going to buy! I have decied to buy the Mugen MT.12 ! I know I changed my mind, but the thing is that I am saving up more money, also while trying to pay off a speeding ticket 8-0 ! lol NOW! What is a good online hobby shop to buy it from? I looked on towerhobbies, and they dont carry it. Now where can i go i searched on yahoo, and all i got were revies of the engine!

i have ony seen the engine as rear exhaust, and my car is currently a side exhaust, do i just buy the manifold?

My favorite place to buy online is SpeedtechRC.com They have some of the best prices and are really helpful. Check them out.

If you are switching from a rotary carb to a slide, you will need to redo your throttle linkage. They should have some kits at your LHS. Also, I am not familiar with that engine, but I think that the NTC3 uses a side exhaust (correct me if I'm wrong). If the new mil is a rear exhaust, you will need a new pipe and manifold. If so, check you the RD Logics pipes. They are very good quality and really cheap.

Thats my 1 cent because my advise is not worth much.

OK this is Where Christian comes in he runs that mill If he got it from his lhs I am sure he will hoook you up with them on a good price otherwise I will do a little looking for that mill on the net. But since C runs it he is your man on this mill...X

Zoomer, I dont think your "W" works on your keyboard.

Check out CRC for the STS MT-12. It is basically the same engine as the Mugen without the name. I myself have not used them, but I was at my LHS last night and one guy came in with one and he said that they were the best for the money. Really good price. I would get the Mugen, but if I were tight on cash, and I really needed a new mil, I would go for the STS. I'm really diggin the $200 modified STS MT12.

I will get you a price on the Mugen MT .12 Bighead on Monday :( My buddy took off for the mountains today and will not be back til late Sunday night.

The mill I have is a REAR exhaust, which I prefer wherever possible because of the straight through setup. However, I am not certain if you can just drop a Rear Exhaust bump start mill into the RTR. Do you have the exact model # that you purchased? If so I can make sure you get the right model number mill.

Keep me posted!

stock #2041
i should let you know that i am going to get the 2 speed option for it too.

Ill check with them tomorrow morning, 11am eastern time, and see what they say. However, the owner, my bud, will not be there. I should at least be able to get the right MT model number and a BALLPARK price. These mills are not too pricey at all and they are a Rossi in a nutshell. They make them.

 see how excited i am !!!!! YAY!!!!! Thank-you soo much!!!!! :OMG:

Well I had no luck over the weekend. I did however, look at the 2041 up close and personal. I couldnt for the life of me figure out how you will have enough room for the 2 speed conversion AND a pull start. And to run a bump start you would prob have to cut the chassis.

Then again, I could be all wrong. I just based it on my visual observations.

I will have answers today!

My concern is when you put in the 2 speed conversion you will have to move the mill further towards the front of the vehicle. Will you still be able to bump start after that is the question.

Are you positively getting the 2 speed conversion?

-Chris

2 speed is not a definate thing yet! But i was just thinking it would be cool! but i do want to get a couple other things not involving the engine. if i can I will get it, if not, then no....

let me know if it will be a steal to go through you, or if it will be the same price as all the other HS's
