I have an imax b5 charger an need help charging lipos. i have 2s 1300mah turnigy lipos. An dont know what I'm doing. Thanks!

What do you need help with? Set your charger to 7.4V (2s), 1300mah, and charge at 1.3A (1C). Also plug in your balancer to the LIPO balance port (usually a tiny little clip that looks sort of like a servo connector).

If that doesn't help...then get specific on what you need and someone will surely give you a hand.

That worked perfect. i have a few more questions. do lipos need to be low before you recharge them or is it ok to top them up any time? any other lipo advice would be great. Thanks!

LiPos can be charged whenever. They don't have a memory like the older NiCad batteries.

Don't leave your Lipos on the charger when you're finished. If the battery pack becomes physically damaged recycle it! It's a fire hazard.

The joys of LIPO....you can charge them as many times as you can empty them in a day ;-) Just don't run em down to low! If they get to less than 3V per cell, you will have issues recharging them and they could potentially swell and cause more issues.

So just be mindful of the voltage in a LIPO while you are using it. If this is just a small pack for a small car...make sure it has a LIPO cutoff equipped to let you know when you are close to 3V per cell. If it's an RX pack, well....you'll have to figure that part out yourself ;-)

Glad I could help you out last night though....LIPO is awesome technology, as long as you respect it. Treat them incorrectly, they can quite literally blow up in your face. Treat them properly, and enjoy the added benefits that LIPO brings to the table. They FAR outweigh the risks in my opinion.

Ok Thanks guys. so far i love them. when they were charging they didnt even get warm.

I'm running them in a crawler with the novac crawler esc an it has lipo cutoff. has anyone had any problems with the lipo cutoff on them?

Thanks again for all the help!:D

They should never get warm while charging. They will get warm when discharging.
