I'm with mw go with the cheaper place.

The 5 cell batt pack is what powers your servos on the truck.

thanks!
I was wondering if there are any tips to use when racing. Like on electric rc if you hit reverse after going fast you can slide the car through a corner thus making you go faster throgh the corner.

Oh I can tell you're going to be the new local track hack...LOL....
here's the tip for racing....find a line on the track where you use your brakes the least....that's the secret to racing.....

did you get a car yet. If your LHS (local hobby shop, in this case, Hobbytown) has Traxxas and in particular, Revo's, then they should have parts to fix them when they break (which they will). That makes it much easier than having to wait for shipping on internet items.

I would get the Revo. I have 2...and love them.

If you want a buggy, yes...but it depends on what you want...do you like to go through just about any terrain? Then get a MT

MT=Monster Truck. I thought you settled on the Revo earlier?

Man, before you go asking between a Hyper 7 or 8, I'd suggest at least deciding what type of rig you want first. You've kind of bounced around, but it'll be easier to make the decision on a specific model if you can at least decide on what type you want first.

okay sorry i am kinda thinking a truggy or MT so can get through my back yard even though it isn't that rough. I do want to race though and on one of my other threads i have heard a debate on whether buggies are faster at the track or not. Kinda would like a final answer on that. So is it worth getting the buggy or not.
thanks

if you have never had a nitro then i would go with the revo its much more user friendly and you have a better chance at winning if you want to be good at the buggy then you have to spend alot to be good but with the revo you dont have to be perfect you just have to know how to drive. Also if you have never tuned a nitro then the revo 3.3 is easier to tune the amonster big block just me 2 cents

Yeah, I'd have to agree with SuperMaxx 100%, I have a Hyper 7 and a Revo and finally decided to focus on improving my driving skills at the track before I try actually racing the Hyper.

I'm sure a buggy will beat a MT, all things being equal, 8 of 10 times. The guys that race buggies at the track I frequent all seem to have unbelievable control of their rigs and these things flat fly!

My advice is the exact same as SuperMaxx's; get yourself a Revo and really master it. Speed does not always when the race, it's the driver that can stay out of trouble and negotiate the track that wins.

thanks guys!!! would any of you think i should get a 2.5R T-Maxx with upgrades for $200 and not ever raced but used a little?

believe me if you get a maxx you will put enough into it to build your own 3 revos and the maxx still wont handle like the revo does and also the revo is the best mt out there in my eyes and alot of others and you can barly compete with a maxx now days but if you choose o dont come crying to us when you hate your maxx and want a revo just do what us guys with all the experience say and get your self a revo and be the hapiest new b around.
