Hi ,
I'm having problems removing cylinder and piston from my pro 28 thundertiger , any tips and tricks appreciated . Thx

  1. Remove head and backplate
  2. Through the backplate push up on sleeve and remove through top of engine. If you need something firm to assist in pushing the sleeve up, just make sure the material contacting the sleeve is plastic so you do not dent or nick the bottom edge
  3. Now that the sleeve is out there is enough wiggle room to slide the connecting rod off the crankshaft.
That's pretty much the only way to get it out of there. The only part that can be tricky is getting the sleeve out. The sleeve has a ringed lip at the top and once you get it slid up enough out of the block you will have something to get your fingernail under and pull out.

thx , but still having probs ! con rod has shattered on top end , I've removed the remaining con rod and the sleeve and piston move about 1 or 2mm , but it seems jammed some how . theres nothing to grab onto on the top .
Are there any other methods
Thx

get some good gloves and put it in a pre heated oven at 200 ish the expansion of the engine should free it up.. keep trying and keep screwdrivers and sharp things well away !! it will come :)

So the piston is stuck at top dead center? Tap the piston down and nearly out of the sleeve. Use something broad, like a nut driver and place something under it like a piece of paper towel folded about 3 times (if the piston is salvagable)

Thx for the advice I've managed to remove it . Looks like the inside of the engine is scratched tho hope it's ok when I put the replacement sleeve , piston and con rod back in ?
