:\well i have 3 trucks a race revo with a new engine, 3.3 maxx ready to bash like crazy and a rustler 2.5.........and i have only burnt one quart split between all three trucks and maybe really only half of that quart was burnt, other half either dripping out the exhaust pipes or wasted due to fustration. so i been thinking about selling them and going brushless... but i watch these videos on youtube of nitro trucks actually running and someday i know mine should do that...... so anyone in this area of mine(reno sacramento red bluff vacaville) that knows how to tune trucks and can teach me i will be more than happy to pay you. i know no one that messes around with r/c's, anyone out there??? got addicted to building them know need to learn to TUNE them!!!

well it seems like you have a good idea of sell them and going to brushless...lol..good luck with getting them tuned..I owned gas trucks and i had the same idea and going to brushless and that was the best idea that i had.

Well friend, if I were near you, I'd be happy to show you what I know and do.

Considering the quantity of fuel you've ran through all 3 (if they were new engines when you started), you've maybe burned enough fuel to break in only one.

You should run a full quart (if not more) through each one before giving up. The engine setting down and start actually holding a tune once you get 4-5 heat cycle tanks and another 6-10 running tanks through them to loosen them up. 1 quart is only 950cc's which is only really 7 tanks.

Which means, you've barely started! lol

I'd suggest focusing on one. Break it in with the proper amount of fuel (and patience ) then anything you learn you can apply to the other two as you break them in. If you fail and destroy an engine, chalk it up to "learning". Odds are that you won't if you keep a cool head (no pun intended) and take your time.

Think of it this way, by the time you go through the task of breaking three engines in in a row, you will be much closer to being a tuner than you are now.

If your not willing to put the time in, nitro won't be any fun. I'd sell them and get something brushless.

I am sure that you will be okay, you just have to have patience with it; of course this advice is only going on a day after running my first nitro so you can take that with a grain of salt! If you are not the type to tune then I would go brushless for sure; I would have gone brushless if the trucks were cheaper, but after pricing batts and chargers I was boderline 1G!

there are alot of great tuning videos on youtube. I believe HPI has the ones i am thinking of. Break the engine in and then watch some videos on tuning.

I have had my truck for a few weeks now and it is broke right now. But i think that tuning it is part of the fun of having it i have been trying different things with mine and it is very picky i have noticed. I have not really had it any were to bash it yet i have been trying to tune it at home like about a half hour to an hour at a time. Just hang in there man and i think you will make it. And try to think of it as fun not a job and remember what did and didn't work. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER R/C NITRO TALK cause these guys and girls are great help!!!!!!!!!!
