Ok looking at a Losi, with the pro race roller it would come with a novak brushless system, 1/10 savox steering servo, and a lipo battery

its a friend of mines, and i trust him with quality stuff and he wants 275$ for it is it worth that? It looks BRAND NEW

If you want a shaft driven comp rig then yes it is worth the money as long as it has the Novak Goat 3S ESC so you can run 3 cell lipo batteries, but just remember you are still going to need a 3 channel radio that has a 3 position 3rd channel to work the dig in it, and possibly a dig servo if it does not have one, the only down side is it is shaft driven and there is not as much after market support for the Losi's as there is for Axial XR10 comp crawler.

The title says help a new guy, if it is something you want go for it. What a better way to start in the hobby. You can finish building it and learn the rig.

yeah, might as well experiment and waste lots of money first. Never start with the best is my motto. :hehe:

its easier to just start out with the best...typically the quality of stuff you buy at a higher level is normally better...so why waste money

Exactly, my comment was sarcasm. When the best isnt "that" much more and WILL save you money not far down the road. Starting cheap into crawlers is what makes most people get out of crawling, they hate the rig and think thats how it has to be.

For used, you can pick up Bully based or xr10 based rigs for around the price you are looking for. Bergs sometimes but usually the berg based rigs for that cheap are bone stock.

I have a friend that he will buy cheap stuff break, order the parts on line, cause he buys cheap off brand stuff. can't run his rig cause he's waiting for parts. I told him what do you want, a Crawler, trail rig, scaler. I don't know he says. I can get you a deal on a new ridgecrest, says I don't want to spend that much. So I guess he get what he gets, and ill be sitting pretty and running my wraith have a fun. People like that confuse me, by crap and expect diamonds.

The M2 Dig Unit from Novak may suit your requirements. Its worth a look.

I heard they over heat. I don't know about a comp crawler but for scalers I hear a lot of good about Tekin.
