Has anyone done any mods to an os18 cvr?

Thanks, so far I am still convinced I am staying away from the actual porting and polishing of the sleeve (to change the timing) I found a TON of info on it last night and have been reading up on it. There's a LOT to digest there! Whatever is done, I would like to do myself. For better or worse, this will be a learning experience for me.
Last night I read that same thing about the crank cutting being cancelled out, and then others who have experienced gains from it. I'm still hoping there's someone out there who has some direct experience with doing the work who might be able to shed some light on this. I was thinking, hey, it's not rocket science... Now I'm thinking it might not be so far off. :hehe:

LOL...Its funny how such a little engine can cause such a controversial down right heated battles that get
a lot of people p-off an sometimes result in getting booted from forums an also causes the person
who started the thread not to come back to the site!.....:D....Dude ,where did you get that laughing smiley?...

When you make the post it's the 14th in from the left, then animated smileys.:bowtothercnt:

I don't want to cause any waves. I am open to any suggestions, thoughts or ideas. As I'm not on fire to get this done, I can wait for the info. Who knows? Maybe I'll just clean up the motor and get it running right, leave the whole thing alone! I just love the idea of taking this car from the disaster state it's in and making it SCREAM! Even with a stock .18, it's gonna be a handful and as I've seen, they BOOGIE!!! :celebrate:

I use to know a lot of folks ,but they faded away an don't get on the forums no more ,the only one guy I know ,his head already got
too big ,an he runs a business.
But can keep my eye out for some more info if I run across some details!...

That cvr 18 was a bad boy stock ,I think you can get by with tuned pipe ,but I also heard that the length of the header
can make a big improvement as well.

I have been looking at different exhausts for a while. Yes, everything I had read says the pipe and the header length will change up tuning too.
I'll mess with the motor as more info comes in. I'm a long way off from doing any changes... But the info is pretty technical and time consuming so I figured to start looking Now was the smart thing to do.

Back 12 to 15 years ago ,you would see folks do internal mods to their engine with detailed pics.
Most of those old forums are gone now.
Its like finding a needle in a hat stack now ,you have to litterely spend days on every forum in existence
to find a thread specificly on engine modding.

You got me searching ,an coming up with blanks!...:deadhorse

I have been searching too. Of course there's the other challenge of finding posts that are legible... Non3 ov dat... Whatever the he'll that's all about text...:hehe:

Thanks @Nitrotrout . I don't think I'm gonna do anything to the rod other than make it shiny. Other than that, how did your motor go? Up to the detonation of course!

It pulled the front wheels of my T Maxx off the ground which I could never do before, and it sounded like a big block. Hilarious.
It also consumed more fuel than before I did the mods I noticed.
