Unlike fstnd, I yank off pull-starts and replace them with roto-starts.
I have a bag full of pull-starters collecting dust.
Roto-start:
I have no knowledge of your engine's specific details, so I'm shooting a little blind here.
The only engine I had to buy a unique sized roto-start backplate for was an LRP, and one is marketed specifically for these engines.
Otherwise, I've swapped the roto-start backplate between multiple brands of engines.
If I measured correctly, most engines have a 27mm center to center pattern for the pull-start (and roto-start) to screw into.
Odds are, you have a 12mm OWB or hex head that the pull-start uses to engage the engine.
That's also the common roto-start size
If you get one, don't buy a cheap one off of Ali Express if you can avoid it - they have earned a poor reputation.
Then you need to determine the starter wand access to ensure that the backplate you are looking at will work with your truck.
There are basically two roto-start configurations (yes there are other designs too).
One where the starter shaft connects at a corner edge, and the other where it connects center edge.
I have some trucks where a starter shafts access is blocked for one backplates configuration, but not the other.
I also have some trucks where I can use either roto-start configuration... there's nothing in the way.
And if you want to save money, PM me your address and I'll send you a pull-start, and you can give it a new life.
