Happy Valentines Day to me, I got my 5B! My 5B SS came today on UPS. I started the build and got my front end built. I think I've got a light week at work so I'm hoping to have it built for the weekend. This thing is awesome so far!

Building the SS Kit has got to my favorite RC project of all time.
I've built at least 15 of them and it never gets old.

Yep, I've often thought about working on bikes for a living, but as you said, I don't want a career getting in the way of my favorite hobby. Nice pics Charlie, really gives a good idea of just how big 1/5 scale stuff is.

Ok, I'm just waiting on the rest of my radio gear to get here. I've got a few little adjustments to make and I need to paint the body and install the wing. Other than that though, she's lookin good. I only have 1 big, make that huge bitch. What the heck was HPI thinking with the placement of the front shocks. The hangers damn near drag the ground. I'll post that pic last. I haven't read anything about this being and issue but it sure appears that it would be.

The front end doesn't have to drop but about 1/2 inch and the darn shocks are in the dirt?

I have seen skid plates for the lower shock mounts. I haven't had any problems with my original 5B RTR.

I got it figured out. I feel like an idiot a little bit but ehh, live and learn. I had the lower pivot balls on the outside of the hub instead of the inside. Here she is.
