I agree with Rob that while you can jump a mojave, the body acts like a big parachute and adversely affects air control. The Xmaxx, kraton, outcast, and even buggies will do better jumping than a short course truck.

IMHO, the sct platform is best suited for a track.

Totally agree. I only drove one, one time, so I am not the obvious pro like some people , but the jumps we hit were sloping, similar to a track, and it was a ton of fun.

I love my Mojave, she's not made for jumping, but she is badass on rough terrain. She's more than tough enough for jumping, but closed wheel bodies just don't give you the control the open wheel designs do in the air.

I would think one of the 10 best bashers in the world would know this, but the rest of us just have to use the abilities we have and enjoy the ride.

I think from what I've seen and read, the Xmaxx is a more versatile rig. I completely understand the attraction of the Hammer Rey's more realistic appearance. That's what drew me to my Mojave. In all honesty, it's just a matter of time before your itchin' for a second rig so you really can't go wrong either way.

Just want to thank everybody again for all this great information.

I think for the moment I’ll pony up and go XMAXX as it’s the only car I’ve had hands on experience with and I did have a blast driving it. I’ve got to be selective with my hobby purchases as my main hobby (pit bikes) is quite the money pit in itself, I can’t afford to have a second hobby that gets as deep as the pit bike hobby got! Ha.

Do we all agree that it’s probably smart to stay away from these things on the secondhand market?

I assume you have no problem wrenching on stuff? If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, the Xmaxx is fairly easy to work on.

With that, a used one may not be a bad option based on searches I have done on FB marketplace. Just make sure they don't look all beat up with rusty screws. I have seen a few in my area for pretty good prices. If you can actually see the truck run, that is a big plus.

Buying one off ebay will be more risky of course, but if it is a seller with good feedback, I personally wouldn't have a problem buying one if the price is right. Anything can be fixed. Just make sure the seller's positive feedback is for selling, not buying. Anyone can have good feedback as a buyer

If you find something used, share the pics and info here for our critique. That will be a big plus as well since we would know what to look for.

who told you? i always wanted to be known as the best basher (how could you tell who's the best anyway?) but now i know i have no chance against a guy who has been bashing for 30+ years.
what a bad temper this guy has. Doom legit said that the Mojave wasn't the best for jumping, and you just started screaming and yelling? thats pretty sad for a 40 year old.
