Grass????

Ok i well my wife has a stampede 2 weeks and a couple of days old. I'm going to say about 5 batterys thru it.
The motor is a t12 titan 550
She plugged in her battery and nothing but steering.
So i called traxxas. they said the motor was burned out . that they shouldn't, But he is sending me a new one for it. Because it was so new.

Then i called the LHS and asked what motors they have for it. and i told them what had happened. They asked what my wife drove on mostly. I said any and everything. They asked GRASS? I said sometimes. He said that was her problem .

What i am asking is if anyone has ever heard of this....
I never heard of this before all of my others rode fine for years and it never bothered them.
And what motor (BRUSHED) should i go with?

Just a quick check, but did you check that all the connections were secure? And did you try re-programming the ESC?

Yes i checked the ESC and even re-programmed it. I even hooked the battery straight to the motor before i called them. (it didn't work) And the guy from traxxas even walked me through it. I was playing with the motor about an hour ago . just spinning the shaft and a piece of brush fell out lol.

Ahh... well no brushed motor is going to work sans brushes.

LOL, Yea but would running in the grass (not tall grass just grass) do that?

I don't think so, but a rock might have gotten kicked into the motor.

This is very possible. Hey have you any idea how the stinger motors are?

Driving in grass will load up the motor, and the Titan is a fair motor, at best, and I've seen Titans go in 2 or 3 batteries.
Thats why Traxxas throw spare ones at you when they go, because they know they will and have 4 million spares.
I'm a HUGE Fantom fan, brushed and brushless, although might be classed as overkill in an XL-5 Stamp.......

The Stinger is a 20t 540. Weak at best. Do a search on ebay for a titian killer mod motor. Should be around $23. You can gear them up a lot more then a titian. I run them in my old E maxx with 4500's and 24t pinions. I haven't got them to 120 degrees yet. With or without heat sinks. Post the link and I'll tell you if it's the one if your interested.
