See what others at the track are using. For touring cars the P2K2 is good. I'd bet alot are using the Monster Horsepower.
All stock motors are priced in the same range.
When you break the motor in, do everything i said in the other thread but DO NOT lube the bushings while breaking the motor in.
Take the brushes out and set them aside.
Get some Trinity #4049 bushing buster. It's a compound that will slightly wear the bushings allowing the motor to spin faster when used correctly. Use this for just a few minutes and clean the motor out good. This stuff will also destroy bushings if used for to long.
I turn stock motors with a slave motor, Get a length of small diameter nitro fuel tubing to couple two motors together. use and old stock motor you have laying around as the driver.
Bud's and maybe others make a motor holder that holds two motors. You can also line them up by using two pairs of needle nose plyers, with the handles touching each other, flat on a bench.
Set a motor down inside the handles and strap/elastic band the motor down. Use the fuel tubing to connect the two shafts where the pinion gear would go.
Apply power (3 or 4 cell pack) to the slave motor and your new motor is turning over without using any power. After you've done the bushing buster segment and cleaned the motor, throw the brushes back in it, with the drop of comm drops and run the motor for a minute or two and inspect the brushes to make sure the full face is touching on the comm. With the curved built into them plus the serrations 2-3 minutes tops and they are fully seated.
Clean the brushes off as i stated in the other thread and you're set to go.
