hey guys, i started racing my savage, but since my savage never breaks between heats like others, i get bored. I have an x-cellerator with the 18 in it, and i want to race it. Whats a good, fast, cheap .12 engine . Preferably under 150 bux.

The OS line of engines are great.I would suggest a .12 TR over a .12 CVR.The TR has a smoother powerband. Both are under your budget and are great racing engines.

i second one the os .12 Tr because of what highflyin said and they hold a very good tune. i have a .21 in my maxx also.

I just ordered a Dynamite .12 from horizon hobby yesterday and I'm getting it tomorrow or thursday...ill tell you if there any good!

i can vouche for the os line of engines I have one and it holds a great tune, its on Dflat right now j/k

I had the .15 cvr and it was pretty good. I thought it lacked a little speed but i guess i thought that cuz i was racing my brother's lightning with it in my xxx-nt. I still beat him tho :hammer: still... I could never pop any wheelies on demand with the stock gearing :(

Get an OS .12 CV-R. They cost around $110.00 and has great power. I have one in my Losi XXX-NT and it pulls wheelies and gets big air on the jumps. I haven't been racing long and was almost afraid of it when I started out. It makes my RC10GT with .12 CV look sick but I guess it should since it has twice the HP.

PS: it also dusted my Duratrax Nitro Evader with the DTX18 engine in it.

So, is the O.s tr faster than the cvr? or is it just different power bands?

And what do u guyz think of maybe the sh .12 offroad

I need a .12 motor, and i just went onto towerhobbies and it showed that The os's are discontinued and the offroad wasp 12 is discontinued also????

I need a rear exhaust motor that puts out some really good torque also, becuase i am going to race my xtm x-cellerator and they have a pretty low gearing.

So, the motors i am really interested in now are:
Fantom .12, except it is a side exhaust
O.S. .12 cv-r, with a losi pipe i hear is good
Does anybody have a link to where i can get the O.S. cvr .12, and any recommendations for a pipe, i will need some more acceleration dur to the gearing problem.

Thanx guyz, appreciate the help!

I was looking at towerhobbies.com, and i was looking at the O.S. cvr motor, i was wondering what the difference between the cvr and the cvrx is??
I need a pullstart also, i dont want to pay 100 bux for a box.

Ahh, the X stands for pullstart, thats the one you want. The engine hauls and kicks butt on the track. By low gearing, you mean TALL right?
