Thought this was going to be an AC/DC post didn't ya.

Na...
Me and the 'ol lady took the rimfires out yesterday. Had a blast. Got a Browning Buckmark that I have shot the hell out of. A 10/22 Ruger that I have had for about 6 months and never shot.

'Ol lady has never shot a rifle. She kept telling me that if it kicked, she was going to hurt me. She just weighs 100lbs. She used to shoot the .357 every once in a while but doesn't like it.

After she shot the rifle, I had a hard time getting it away from her. :)
Was fun just watching her. Got 25 rd. clips. She would take her time with 5 or 6 rds. Then it was all hell. I had a hard time keeping the gun loaded.
She is a pretty fair shot.

We ended shooting about 400 rounds. The 10/22 was great. Hell of a fun build. Still some things I want to do to it.
But we had a blast.
I'm loving these rimfires. The .357 is just so expensive to shoot. Don't get me wrong. Still shooting it, just not as much.

Hey Digger,

That sounds like alot of fun. I think the .22's are the most fun to shoot. They are accurate as hell and are cheap to shoot. I love shooting the .357 although after a few rounds you feel like your hand is going to leave your wrist! LOL I think my favorite rifle to plink with is my AR-15 that I built a few years back. It is fairly cheap to shoot and I have a blast with it. I have not gotten my wife out to shoot yet, but I have been working on it. I was wanting to buy a 10/22 last summer but I have not gotten a gun safe yet and I didn't want to bring a bunch of guns in the house with our 4 year old running around. I have a Liberty safe on order and it should be here sometime the end of August. Right now all my guns are at my fathers house in his gun cabinet.

Anyway great story Digger, that sounds like alot of fun. I will have to see about getting out to the range here soon. Take care my friend.

I get out with my .357 2 or 3 times a year. 50 or 100 rounds each time. I love it, but just too expensive for me to shoot much.
The Buckmark probably gets about 2000 rounds a year through it.
The 10/22 is going to see a lot through it too. I'm going to do a bit more work on the trigger. Not satisfied with it. Probably end up with something aftermarket. Figure I'll build another. Spend a little more on the next one.

Can never be too careful around guns and little ones. Glad to hear everything is locked up.

Digger sounds like a fun day teaching the lil woman to kill you better...LOL.....chicks w/ guns and bikes...oh I have a weak spot for that.....
I just got a ruger 10/22 myself...lovin it...but the new calico has definately taken my number one place as the most fun I can have at the range......has anyone done the .17 barrel on the ruger? how is finding ammo....I want to set up a small range behind the apts....there's a perfect spot for it....and my ruger has some half assed stock that looks like it folds but is all one piece....that needs to go soon.......

i will agree the .22's are fun and cheap to shoot. but i like pistols alot better, mainly because i shoot them more often, i just came back from shooting a tarus 24/7 .40, a glock .40, and a super black hawk .44. and the only reason i can shoot them so often is be cause we reload our own bullets so it coust(sp?) us about 5-10 cent or less per round.

glad ya'll had fun.

hey godale,

you probily already know but,....did you know theres a few .22 conversion kits for the ar-15

i have one for mine & i love the ability to shoot .22's from the ar-15

it wont replace the ruger 10/22 but its a fun option

I have heard of a conversion that will do that, however I have never actually seen one. I have not been able to get to a gun show in about a year. I think I will have to catch the next one that comes to town. It shouldn't be that hard to do... sounds like it would be alot of fun too!
