Ok I searched the forum almost 7 years back and came up with conflicting answers. The last time I took out my losi aftershock I burnt the plug out, no problem I thought its been in since the truck was new. So I picked up a O.S. LC4. Now my truck was bogging out when I go full throttle it would take of fine but after about 5 seconds it would start to bog then go fine again and continue doing this. So I thought it was rich, so I bring it in, sure enough it was, the hottest I got it to after leaning it a few times was 201*F. Then my last high speed pass the plug died. So I'm asking do I have the right plug for my engine?it's the stock Mach26 and I'm running 20% blue thunder sport, it was about 65*F out. Or is my tune just way off?

Its possible your running the wrong plug i know a friend that went through plus because his tune was off and he personally just didnt care, he wouldnt tune it just kept driving it. In your case how ever your atleast making adjustments ... Your engine seems to be running too cool... The proper operating temp is 220 f minimum usually. So this is telling me that the plug is probably going out because the cool running temp is causing the coil to crack. I'm positive that if you can tune your engine to maintain an operating temp of 240-250 your plug wouldnt go out as often.

Its almost like how when you heat something up and then cool it down quickly its gonna break or crack.. I think this is the case with your plug, The engine is running so cool that the plug heats up and cools down so quickly from the rich af ratio that its just the dramatic temp changes.

How ever this is just a theory of mine. I'm sure there are some more technical reasons as to why your having this issue. Its just something i thought of when i read your post.

Also.. what is your altitude ??

I'm not the best at tuning, but I had a good tune all summer with little adjustments. The plugs have only gone out on me when the weather has cooled down, which has coincendently been the beginning of September. I'm goin to try an O.S.#8 let it warn up do one WOT then give it temp check see what it's then make a bigger adjustment then the 1/8 turns I was doing today and just keep a real close eye on temps.

Oh and I don't have money to burn, so I tune. I can't afford to just kill a motor by not tuning it and although I want a bigger motor (who doesn't) I believe in the old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it.
