Glow plug question-1st time "start"

My first nitro truck and I'm having trouble starting. I turn on the receiver, put in fuel. I think I have the piston on the bottom. Put fuel in carb, attach glow plug heater and pull away. I think the needles are good. What am I missing?

Shouldn't the glow heater or glow plug get hot? mine isn't.

How long do you wait after putting on the glow plug heater to pull the cord?

When I pull the start cord should I see fuel moving through the lines?
I think I see fuel in the line with air but when I pull the cord I dont notice the air bubbles moving.

Aren't I just flooding the engine if I keep pulling?

I know these answers can probably be found in search but I'm trying to get it started before it gets to late for noise purposes. I did use searches but I had alot of it to sift through.

Truck is 1/8 tornado, .27 engine, omega fuel

Please help.

Check out this little handy tool. There are hundreds of pages out there for you to look at, just do a little research and should have it running in no time.

pull the line from the carb and pinch it off. Hold it with one hand.

Pull the exhaust line, and then blow into it while you release the pinch. Make sure you're getting fuel.

Also, you could try dumping a little fuel into the air inlet.

If you take the glow plug out and connect your ignitor to it (hold the plug with needle nose pliers) does it get hot (glow orange)? When you first pull, put your finger over the exhaust stinger and give a couple pulls, this will help prime the line and get fuel moving to the carb. Also when you take the plug out, turn the car/truck over and see if any fuel comes out of the hole, this will help make sure your not flooded.

I got it running. I took the glow plug out and put it on the glow plug heater. I heard a sizzling sound so it's good. Then I turned the flywheel so I could see for sure the piston was at the bottom. Then I turned it over and dumped out the excess gas from the piston and muffler. Next, I replaced the plug snug and backed it off just a touch. After that I took off the air filter and opened up the carberator a little more using my remote. My muffler is in the way of the idle adjustment so I couldn't get to it. Is this normal? I put the glow heater on and BAM! Started easy and scared the crap out of me! My carb was open too much so it was racin' and loud. I tried to pinch off the fuel to stop it and that didn't work. Then I tried to shove my finger in the flywheel but found the big gear and pinched the freak out of my finger -DOH! Finally, I grabbed the remote, adjusted the carb back down and pinched the fuel off. Man after trying to start it for a while I wasn't thinking it was going to start so easy after reading everybodies problems on here.
