How often should I charge it? I recently got it from my LHS. I asked them how often I should charge it and they said every week or two. I just charged it two days ago. I ran fine the first day. The second day no luck. I charged it for 10 hrs like they said. On day 2 it lit the plug while I was trouble shooting but by the time I tried a second plug it was dead. It's a Hot shot II igniter

yea my glow ignitor battery was pretty much shot when I got my ignitor brand new. You have to charge it the day you plan on using it or else it won't work. It only holds a charge for about 2 hours. Mine has a AA rechargeable battery inside. If yours does too you can replace this battery with a new rechargeable and see if that helps it.

I would charge it the night before you plan to run. This will prevent not having a working glow igniter. The every week or two that the hobby shop quoted was for down time when you're not running.

I picked up a li-po glow driver and I charged it the day I got it about a week and a half ago and it is still starting my rigs without a problem... I dont think I will go back to a reg. one again after this one it is awsome!!!! I only paid 25.00 for it at my lhs..

Get a peak charger with lcd display and the glow driver adapter and call it a day. I can charge my ignigtor in about an hour or so and it makes sure I can run that day without any issue.

yeah I wish this one had that!!! Thats the only thing I kinda dont like about it but it holds a charge for a long time!!!!! and that was alittle more better for me where I got my rig i gotta start and 1 each for the kids and one for the oldlady... my friend had one I killed in less then a day... power dead not igniter dead l.o.l..... I have had this one for a full week or so and still on the first charge.

I run an AA one and use 2600 mah NiMH SSD AA's in it. I charge them 4 at a time with my peak charger the night before I run. Honestly though, I haven't had to change a battery out when running it yet. So, it has lasted me easily through an engine break-in day on one cell.

Mine is made by hobbico. Can I hurt it if I charge it to much? Like a couple times a week or so.

If it is going to be used 2-3 times per week, than you have no choice but to charge it that often, so go ahead, you will be charging, than discharging during use anyways. If you are going to charge it 2-3 times per week just to store it at peak charge and leave it in your tool box for the next time, dont bother, might do more damage than its worth.

Ok good to know. Put a less worn engine in and what a difference. I'm happy to say she's a runner now!
