Hey guys I'm in desperate need of a new glow plug heater. I"m looking at the hot shot 2 super made by hobbyco. It has a 5000mah battery or something like that.

What are you using and how long does it last?

Honestly I still use my little Hobbico cell. Skymaxx turned me onto it. The one you want may not be the best. Remember that the glow plugs heat up well at 1.5v and I am almost sure that one uses 1.2. If not then it may be a great handheld.

I use one that has a replaceable sub c cell and swapped in a loose GP 3700mah cell. I charge it every few weeks since it lasts so long. Higher cost initially but I've yet to go a day where my glow ignitor has died on me.

I just picked one up for nevnitro made by Dynamite with a meter and wall charger at my LHS for $30. I cut the glow charge lead off the charger and wired it to a tamiya plug so he can quick charge it with his home charger. In his I swapped in a Epic 3800mah cell for another $8 and the ignitor comes with a 1300mah sanyo cell. I'm sure if you searched on ebay you can find it for less.

I am using a dynamite metered glow igniter with a sub c. I had a bad battery pack so I took it apart and removed the good cells, which now I keep charged in my pit box. If my truck is running good I can get a whole day at least on the igniter, but if it aint I may need to replace the battery at some point during the day.

I'm using the hobbico 1.5v dry cell for the first start of the day, but afterwards I use a Sub-C starter w/meter with an Intellect 3800 mah Ni-MH bat.
I've only charged the 3800 bat once about a month ago and it still shows strong on the meter every start.
As said earlier, the Ni-MH is a 1.2 volt and doesn't allow for as quick of a start on the first start of the day. But , has no problems at all afterwards.

Wtf :censored: Sweetdiesel...You told me all total it ran me $65.00 Jon2 told me at the RCX show that this would happen..:jk: Nah..Sweetdiesel's da man...Set me up real nice. Thanks again Dom:D

I have a couple different ones that are NiCd subC cells. They've been ok but suck for break-ins. I put a power panel on my Ofna chrome top starter box and bought one of the glow leads that plugs into it and have to say it's the best thing since sliced bread! What I like it you can control how much it heats up with a screw on the panel.

I use the hotshots as well...I have the big one and the small one w/ a long shaft...the big one lasts so long I've never had it run out....and I've been using it for a lil over a year now.....get a glow bee charger too...they rock

I have a normal c-sized heater. I stretched the spring out a bit so I can use sub-c's. If my sub-c goes dead (normally due to neglecting to charge it after a month), I use an alkiline to get me through the day.
