Glitching??? HELP

Hi, i was racing my new x-terminator pro for the very first time ever (first race ever) and i did pretty badly. I DNF'ed 3 times out of 3. :depress: and on the last race before it even started, i was noticing some glitching. They told me to go and i accidetally ran into the guy in front of me cuz i couldnt steer for 1/2 second... :whistle: after that i went on the first jump and i couldnt control it in the air like i normally do, cuz the brakes wouldnt work for a second... so i crashed. and i just told the guy who picked it up to stop the engine cuz i was afraid further damage (there was none) would take place. like a run away. SO... it has been about 2 1/2 weeks from that race and i am afraid to drive it ever since. I had my friend walk it up the street and i controlled it with the radio and it passed the 150 yard test. (approx.) So I am worried it will run away still. cuz this thing is brand new and i am broke... (13) any way, can i have people's oppionions about if i should run it or not, do i need new xtals, or whatever. I am running AA's in my rx by the way. They have almost full power still. so can some people help??? thanks in advanse.

first thing I'd do is put brand new batteries in everything... or charge them or whatever. if all is the same you may have a receiver issue. Check your antennae also. might have a problem there. My mini-t glitches quite a bit also. I came to the conclusion that I need a new receiver cuz all else is fine.

well if you are using the Alkalines then the batteries will drop below the Threshohld point needed to keep running and cut out. If you keep those batteries they will stabilize and come back up in voltage. IF you use a Rechargeable pack then you will be able to run for a long time. Ig you are having glitching then I would check for metal to metal rubbing as that can give you RF interference. Now if it is a RX problem then just upgrade.

well i dont think it is the reciever. I am down to 2 conclusions... Crystals and reciever pack. I might just pick a rx pack this weekend b4 i start it up and that might work. I dont trust AA's... So ill test the pack and if it works or not ill let you know. I will also tell you the crash report...

The reason Alkilines just don't work is due to the current draw of the servo's. They can't supply the needed current that a servo or set of servo's needs for very long. Like Jon2 said, they drop below their maxx current threshold pretty quick, but if you put a voltmeter on them, it will show high voltage. Unfortunatly, it's a little more annoying to check current draw. I could explain it, but it isn't worth the effort. NiMH batteries allow for a much higher current draw.

Go with as high a MaH rating with a NiMH pack as you can find. Personally, I made my own out of NiMH 2000MaH AA's that I bought at radio shack. I can run a good solid day (about 6 hours) with high torque steering and high speed throttle/brake on my savage or my maxx before it starts getting glitchy. The only problem with going this route is the size of the pack. In order to get 6 volts, you have to use 5 batteries. 5 AA's can tend to take up some real estate that you don't have.

somwone could of had a radio on with the same channel in the pits or somewhere it will make your buggy do exactly what your explaining

It should work ok. That's pretty close to what most purchasable reciever packs are.

Yeah,if you never had any problems before this ,this could be the answer. All some had to do was to have his radio on,not even messing with it and it will glitch. Never hurts to replace the batts. though. As for the 1st time out racing,it is a lot different than bashing isnt it? Keep your head up and just have fun with it. I just started racing myself and its a blast, even if I DNF,which I do from time to time. Good Luck!!!

Thanks. But wouldn't they realize that my channel wasn't on the rack???? If they didnt look over there to see, that is really pathetic. yeah i no racing is different. I have actually raced my brothers lightning once against 3 kanai's. And i was in first place the first 3 laps!!! (his buggy is bone stock) but i didnt no how to jump... and you know the rest.

My crystal couldve loosened when i hit a jump wrong or something...

Yeah the crystal could be "jiggilly" I have seen someone that left their radio on after a heat and went out to turn marshal. I have seen that person in the mirror. :hammer: Noob racers! Have you fired her back up again?

Nah, I am scared to death to start it again. After i get my rx pack, i will start it. Its just something about those AA's that make me afraid to start it.

I got the rx pack, charged it and installed it. I started it up pointing to the bushes (ya never know) It started right up perfectly!!! No problems with the servos infact, the performance was incredibly better. I am so happy i got it. Thanks guys.
