man tweak... good luck to ya. Please shoot some looters for me and take some good video. That way like imbroken said, sell it and you'll have some money for repairs on your house. I understand that you dont want looting, and I dont see what kind of person can go in and start steeling stuff from people that have already lost enough. But make sure you have something to defend yourself with, no fistfights, tresspassing is against the law. Shoot em.

Good Luck to ya man, stay safe, protect your house. Also i wish the best to your family also.

I saw a newscast during Katrina where a cop broke down in tears at seeing his home had been looted during the storm. I will not let that happen. I hope everything turns out allright... Remeber the floating Savage from a while back? I sealed up the tires on my RC10GT and added a couple valves. If I can get the damn thing to start I can start towing people/small houses to safety! Anyhow. I will be here off and on for the next dew days. The internet here keeps cutting in and out at the damndest times- So I can never be sure when I will have a reliable connection.

All looters will be shot on site, survivers WILL be shot again, and again, and again.

tweak, wannarumen, busted gears, and beason... Good luck to all. Your lives are in the hands of mother natures, with a bit of your desicion also.

unfortunately, tweak desides to stay behind. Tweak, we all are praying and hoping the best of this. Now on my news station, they said sustained winds of 175mph, and it may be worse than katrina. Except for the fact that you dont have to rely on 100 years old levy's for the fate of your city. Good Luck....

I can see tweak sitting on top of his house like in the movie forest gump, IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!!!! but serously hope you make it through and GET SOME VIDEO, unlike the truck pulls

I have ultimately made up my mind to stay here, with my home. We are on the second floor, with a garge beneath us. I am not worried about flooding, but to be blunt and scared as hell.

This is what people were saying before Katrina hit.

Last update I watched put Htown right on the east side of this monster, good luck Tweak, your going to need it. Also good luck to everyone else in southern Texas.

This is hell. Riots are breaking out over gas, and I just tried to get some myself for the frieds car we borrowed for the weekend. I waited in three diffrent lines for god know long only to be turned away after hours. People are panicing all over. This thing is only two days out and people are already becoming monsters. The power is in and out, the net is in and out... I can't even verify an open line of communication to the "outside world" Seriously, this is hell. I don't imagine it getting too bad, but for those of you who have been paying attention, I am not dumb enough to hang around after/when it gets TOO tough. I will tuck tail and run before anything gets out of hand. But the captain must go down with his ship, and Bygod, this is a brand new ship. i don't even have my PS2 unpacked yet. The only consolation I will have is knowing that if I can't survive the weather, the looters can't either. Screw em. THey will have one hell of a suprise when they come knocking on MY door.

well i made it to austin.. took 16 hours to make the 3 hour trip with no ac and 98 deg weather.. left at 10:30 am and got here at 2:30am.. I'm at my fiances brothers house mooching off an avalable wifi connection.:) havent heard from anyone else since 9 or so thursday morning.. seems everyone and there moma are trying to use there cell phones. the good news is it seems to have moved from the far left of my town. to the far right.. 3 hours after i left town, i heard it was a 5 mile wide parkinglot.. il keep you guys informed as long as the connection stays. seems tweak is gonna get less then my place will.. good thing I'm in austin.. the only bad part is i left the nitros there.. no room..

HURRICANE RITA DISCUSSION NUMBER 24
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
11 AM EDT FRI SEP 23 2005

RITA HAS WEAKENED SINCE YESTERDAY. THE EYE IS NOT AS DISTINCT AND
THE CONVECTION IS NOT AS INTENSE AS 24 HOURS AGO. THIS IS CONSISTENT
WITH THE CENTRAL PRESSURE WHICH HAS RISEN TO AROUND 927 MB AND
WINDS HAVE DECREASED. THE INITIAL INTENSITY HAS BEEN ADJUSTED DOWN
TO 115 KNOTS. UNLESS ANOTHER EYEWALL CYCLE OCCURS THAT COULD BRING
THE WINDS TEMPORARILY UP A LITTLE BIT...THE OVERALL TENDENCY IS FOR
RITA TO WEAKEN GRADUALLY. SO FAR THE PASSAGE OF RITA OVER THE WARM
EDDY IN THE GULF OF MEXICO HAS NOT RESULTED IN INTENSIFICATION.
HOWEVER...RESEARCH SUGGESTS THERE IS A LAG IN THE ATMOSPHERIC
RESPONSE. NEVERTHERLESS...RITA IS EXPECTED TO MAKE LANDFALL AS
CATEGORY 3 OR...A LITTLE LESS LIKELY...CATEGORY 4 INTENSITY.

UPPER-AIR DATA SHOWS THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM CONTROLLING THE
MOTION OF THE HURRICANE IS ALREADY NORTH AND EAST OF RITA AND IS
CENTERED OVER ARKANSAS AND TENNESSEE. CONSEQUENTLY...RITA HAS TURNED
MORE TO THE NORTHWEST AND IS NOW MOVING 310 DEGREES AT 9 KNOTS. NO
SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN TRACK IS ANTICIPATED BEFORE LANDFALL NEAR THE
UPPER TEXAS OR SOUTHWESTERN LOUISIANA COAST EARLY SATURDAY. ONCE
INLAND...THE STEERING CURRENTS ARE FORECAST TO COLLAPSE AND RITA IS
EXPECTED TO MOVE LITTLE OVER NORTHEASTERN TEXAS AND SOUTHWESTERN
ARKANSAS. RITA BY THEN WILL LIKELY PRODUCE TORRENTIAL RAINS. THE
OFFICIAL FORECAST FOLLOWS VERY CLOSELY THE MODEL CONSENSUS.

RITA IS A LARGE HURRICANE AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND
OUTWARD A GREAT DISTANCE. A SOND DROPPED FROM A RECONNAISSANCE
PLANE MEASURED 56 KNOTS SURFACE WINDS ABOUT 120 N MI WEST OF THE
EYE.

Looks like Rita has turned just enough that we will get some rain and wind. It's raining off and on right now and were expecting high winds. To late to run now so were getting together with a few friends tonight for a little cooking and drinking. Good luck to everyone and I'll talk to yall when it all done.

Looks pretty nasty there in some places. Good luck to everyone.

The winds seem to be slowing down a bit. Hopefully they die down quick, before to much damage occurs.
I think the rains will be the worst part of the storm for you guys.
