This is the last thread I'll be posting for a few days.

I live right off of the gulf of mexico where Rita (bitch) is headed. We're boardin up our house right now. Hopefully I'll have it to come back to.

Just wondering if there was anyone here doing the same.

Be back later.

were headed to austin.. (well i hope so..) call me later mike. let me know whats going on on your end

Doesn't your BFI DUMPSTER float?
Just build some pontoons and load up with food and water.
It will be interesting to see where you are when all is said and done.
It would be like going on a roller coaster ride and a vacation cruse all at one time.

You may even end up close to NY when its all over. I'm sure Ratzo will take you in.

Be safe.

We too are on our way out this evening. I wish everyone the best of luck with this situation. We are heading to Dallas for the weekend and Blake, you know my number and feel free to give it to any of the guys. I will hopefully keep everyone posted on the events here in Houston. Hold down the fort guys- looters are expected.

All looters will be shot on site, survivers WILL be shot again, and again, and again.

Anyway. Stay safe guys! Shoot some looters for me!

Yeah, I am headed to Austin soon myself. I might hole up in El Paso for an extra day. Can't afford to have the DP wrecked by Rita. At least I have my second home "with" me.

You Texas Gulf guys take care. Load everything with Hydrashock!

My couch is empty here in Mn. if ya need it. Be Safe, good luck, and take care!

Ahh revo found hyrdoshocks,So do you likem, and this kinda sucks cause i wanna shoot looter's but my parent's won't let me leave.

I am staying here in Houston to protect my home while my wife goes up to Dallas. I will not be taken advantage off in a time like this.

Tweak: Signing Off. Looks like we some of those people who decided to NOT open thier homes to Hurricane Katrina victims here in Houston are about to get a good taste of what nature can throw at you.

dude no way tweak.
get out. your gonna get your ass handed to you.. you can replace your stuff you can't replace tweak.

Stay safe guys. Make sure you stock up on food and water. Also hitting the ATM wouldn't be a bad idea. After seeing what Katrina did I would have to have one heck of a reason to stay. Better safe than sorry. At least you won't have to worry about a levee breaking and flooding your town.

See? I got a couple straws to breath thru, my floaties and a shotgun. i am good to go.

That right there is a basic survival kit, provided you have ammunition.

Looks like Rita is a CAT5 now... Looks like it may turn into something big (sarcasticly speaking). My grandpa lives out in Arkansas. Looks like he will get some good rainfall. Again, stay safe, and kill me some damned looters! If you see any that is...

Update: Rita is indeed a CAT5 as of now. Army caravans and police are patroling the streets at regular intervalls. People are going nuts. Everyone in my community has been loading goods and supplies for roadtrips all day. There have already been several accidents and a few minor injuries reported on the local news station. Earlier in the day as the highways began to back up, alternate routes were proposed via news cast. these roads are also now backed up, with estimated travel time between The Inner Loop and beltway 8 to college station being around four hours. My wife whom works for JP Morgan Chase is still stuck in downtown Houston, preparing for the onslaught of work to be done over the next few days. The medical company I work for has now moved thirty percent of it's patients in the Houston area to a safe location, the rest following. The perverbial $hit is hitting the fan boys. I don't know about the other Huostonites here on the board, but I think I am the closest to the coast, living right off of Tiki Island. This storm is predicted to make landfall in the next two days, but I can already see large dark clouds rolling in and the wind is begining to pick up. I spent most of the day boarding up the windows and alternate entrances to my home. With the lines at the local Hardware and Shopping stores like they are (Blake and others) need to get moving. I have ultimately made up my mind to stay here, with my home. We are on the second floor, with a garge beneath us. I am not worried about flooding, but to be blunt and scared as hell. To those other Houston natives, I wish you the best of luck. I know you have been watching the local news, and they are predicting this to be a storm to rival Katrina. Get out now while there is still the time. And I am gonna throw one helluva pool party after this thing is over

Hell, if your gonna stay, make sure you get some good video to sell to the news teams later on.. They'll be throwin money around for home videos of a disaster...
Good luck man..

Make sure you have that party on 10/3/05, when I am leaving Austin to drive back to SoCal...!!!

Seriously, good luck. They are hoping the slightly cooler coastal water will weaken the hurricane to a CAT3.
