Hows it goin guys. I've been out of the rc hobby for quite some time now. I use to have a losi xxx-nt and it was a blast. i had an associated t3 before that. I'm am wanting to get back into the hobby and am trying to decide if i should get another losi, one of the new RTR II's, or a savage 25. I will be running it on grass quite a bit and thats the only reason i am considering going with the savage. The grass is always kept short however but i am concerned with overheating the motor on the losi. So can anyone give me any thoughts on this or past experiences? thanks

You will have no problems with grass in a savage. Go for a Savage SS 4.6 kit, best truck out there IMO. Losi LST's are ver nice too though.

If you want a smaller truck like your XXX-NT go for a HPI MT2 .18SS. Its 4WD and has the .18 which can handle grass quite well I would think. Also has a completely beefed up drivetrain.

Or if you want a mix get a 1/8th buggy. They are very fast and are very nimble, but can't hadle the obstacles the savage can. Buggies are a bit more $ though, unless you get a XTM X-Terminator, great buggy for the money.

Do you plan to race? Whats your budget? Just a few things that will help us help you...

i would go with the hpi nitro MT2 .18SS. they are sweet. i have seen them run and they rock

i dont think i will be going in the buggy direction. Never really caught my attention much. I will take a look at the MT 2 sounds like it would be a pretty nice vehicle. No i do not plan on doin any racing. No local tracks around here really. The budget is not to bad, kinda limited at times. My two main decision maker are between the losi radio, and the savage radio. Losi is much nicer. Dont no much about the hpi. The other thing is the wrenchwork. Monster trucks seem to be much more complicated and I'm not sure I'm quite ready for all that. I'm fairly skilled, but I'm no pro. Only wrenchin i have done has been on stadium trucks

If you want something with little to no wrench work, IMO. Go with the Monster GT After I broke it in, I almost literally never had to tune it untill winter came.... Only problems I've have are the A-arms, 1 broke but a RPM set will fix that, and the 1 I did brake I clipped a edge of a curb at WOT while turning/sliding so something had to break... On the other hand, I have a few friends with savages, and they are really durable out of the box, but they are always seem to be either fighting overheating or just general tuning every other day to get it to run right, or keep up with me lol! Good luck in your hunt!! :2cents:
