I traded my brushless firestorm for a set of 18's. A brushless factory team rc18t with a tekin mini rage 6800 setup and an rc18mt with an lrp esc. The first thing i did was get a set of 1550 3s lipo's on order and that hit the bank pretty hard. What should i be looking for next? I am also getting an extra mini rage esc in the trade and i am thinking about either another 6800 motor or maybe a 5400 setup.

From past rc18's i think some of the best upgrades around are mip super diffs and cvd's but i don't know if my factory team one needs this.

Just sending out random thoughts right now. What do you guys think?

Yea, the super diff's are a must with the BL setup. I also went to the Road Rash tires by proline for onroad. They are a must for concrete.

are the mip's that much stronger than the factory team outdrives and dogbones?

I was going to go full mip on the mt but i was thinking the factory team one could handle it.

Am I having a false memory, or aren't you the one I got my RC18 from? Didn't you build the driveline in it?

i sold it and i THINK it was to you, so yes. i built the drivetrain in the 18b. that sucker was bullet proof. How's it been treating you?

I know the mip stuff is top notch but i am just wondering how the factory team stuff compares to it. Its gonna run around $150 to beef up both drivetrains with mip.

what REALLY sucks is that my box is sitting at usps and they are closed for columbus day

Well, It's an 18T now, with RPM towers and new lid. Roadrage tires/wabash rims. New radio gear.

2s Lipo, same setup basically on the drivetrain as when I got it from you.

awesome man!! glad to hear its holding up. That sucker is QUICK.

Wow that thing holds the road WAY better than my MT did. Probably the tires and suspension setup.

I don't offroad bash it, but I've yet to touch the driveline other than removing rock particles from the spur gear. It's pretty damn tough, because I launch as fast as it will let me without losing control nearly every time.

I found that the Factory Team dog bones tended to part company with my 18t. I went ahead and upgraded to CVDs and a wide track kit on mine.

got them in last night. spent about an hour doing some general cleaning and remounting of the electronics. My lipo's should be here today or tommorow so i want to have the 18T ready to go. So far everything looks great. Its gonna take awhile to fund the rebuilds but i am glad i have some 18's again.

Had I known you might have worked out a deal on that firestorm...lol...I feel like dirt now. I wanted that thing, but figred you wouldn't want your old car back. :(

I want a 10th scale electric so bad, but bowling league and my foamy airplane build are taking all my hobby money right now.

Guess this means you're joining the 1/18th social group now.

i just wanted back in the 18's. sure was a nice firestorm too.

brand new sidewinder 5700, maxamps 6000hv lipo, maxamps 4700 nimh, new proline beadlocks and road rage tires.

I will get more enjoyment out of these 18's. i have the savage for large scale screamin.

Yea, I'm glad i didnt get it from you. It would have been just for the motor, esc, and battery. Everything else would probably have been scrapped.

i could have sent you the stock electronics too so you could at least have a little beat up machine

lets go. i'll bring the e-savage and you bring the slash. I'll tbone you and snap that little chassis like a twig. :)
