I have a duratrax raze 1/8th scale buggy everything was working fine it took several tumbles then as i slowed down i heard a grinding noise when i touched my drive gear it burnt me obvious sign of friction heat so i looked and realized the engine gear was not fully connecting with the drive gear but neither gear shows wear but they still slip how can i fix this??

Pic would help us out here. I do think you may have binded one of your diffs. You want to check to make sure you did not blow that internally. Can you spin the tires off the ground freely? Do they all spin? How is the clutch on the engine? Have you inspected the center diff?

all wheels spin and the car goes but the gears grind its neither of the diffs i checked them both the gear slipps wear the engine connects to the center diff you can se the slippage bu the gears seem fien i wonder if there is a way to adjust how far the gears are apart that seems to be my problem

Dumb question but is there still a screw holding in your clutchbell?

yep i dont no why the gears wont fully engage the engine spins and spins the whells but the connection form the engine ot the center diff slips

Sounds to me like the engine slipped during one of the tumbles. Best thing to do is loosen the engine mount bolts and re-mesh the CB with the spur. I've had that happen a few times.

LOL the simple things...I was thinking too far into it or even not enough in. LOL Good tip there MW.

Do a search on setting gear mesh with paper. Best way to do it IMO.
