I went to my LHS today to pick up some new fuel and fuel lines because my truck is going to need new fuel lines once i get it. I was thinking on other easier ways to shut off the car and while i was checking out i thought of a valve. I went to Home Depot to find what i was looking for and i found a small copper shut off valve for tubing. I brought in the tube to figure out what size i need and its almost perfect...all i have to do is heat up the gas line before installing the valve.
What do you guys think??
Well i hope it works since i payed $5 for it...i spent a total of $35 just today on getting things for my XXX-NT and its only in the mail.. :)

Well i hope to get photos up possibly but i need the car first so i might not be able to get pics up right away

I wouldn't use it. I prefer to pinch the fuel line, or to stop by the flywheel. When you put things inline like that it just creates problems. With these things you want to keep things as simple as possible.

Some small valves like that use an o-ring seal around the stem, which might not be compatable with rc fuel.

I tell ya, I've had phenomenal success with these and have yet to lose one yet!

With little girly hands like that I'm surprised you can kill an ant, let alone pinch a fuel line to stop an engine.

Listen, Brokeback, I'm trying to help our friend out. Witty, Freudian comments by you to compensate for, let's just say a lack of manliness, is no cause for personal attacks. Get back on the couch, Ace, and tell the doctor where it hurts!

I never said that the picture of the hand you posted was yours. But seeing your defensive reaction to the comment leads me to believe that you are the one with bigger or shall I say "smaller" issues my friend. :ponder2:

laides, but away the handbags will ya, were not here to argue, were here to help oneanother and talk to each other with atleast a little bit or respect >=]

It's all in fun, my friend! We're just cracking on each other, nothing personal!

Damit MW...I got soda all over myself with your quick witted attacks. Anytime a thread gets going with you and SD, I push everything back away from the computor and read it from a distance.

All this stuff is funny... but this last one would have been better without the mis-spelling.

What's up with the thumbnail? I thought coke heads used their pinky? Outgrow the grams a pinky nail can pick up? Considering how amped up your quick witted response was, I think it's time for you to cut back... or change to heroin.

poop like that could cause computer problems.
Glad I wasn't taking a drink when I read this one.... :hehe:

rabidzoomer, don't think I would use the valve either. Just be something that would cause problems. Just my $0.02

Not to mention the valve is big and heavy for an RC car...

Yeah, that would be my primary concern. That valve looks fairly heavy in relation to the actual car itself and will bang around quite a bit when you're bashing it. I could see it dinging the head quite a bit and may even end up knocking your air filter off if it gets around to it.

I like the idea, so don't think I'm knocking that, I just think from a practical standoint, it may not be the ideal.

Growing out my thumbnail makes it easier to drop an eight-ball! I'm on a budget, so I can't afford smack right now, but it's on my "Goals for 2006" list!

I dont use any valve, I even throw away the plastic clips that come stock. I usually stop the engine by stalling the flywheel with my foot, or even finger on small engines (.12's)

Bag the valve like i was saying earlier,You don't need it just use your fingers.

Really.... Whats wrong with stopping the flywheel? its instant stop, no lean condition, and you dont need to take the body off/burn your fingers on the hot engine when you are trying to find the fuel line. And its extra cheap! $0.00 (unless you shred and burn your fingers in the flywheel and blood gets all over everything and you have to pay for the hospital bill....... :doc: )
