it says synthesized, but then it asks 4 what channel u want and the receiver they show comin w/it has a crystal port, what gives?

look at tower.

hello, any1 answer this question? i think i'm goin 2 call tower and see what gives.

-Ult

Well, I can tell you for sure that the receiver it comes with is not a synth and I know this because I own 2 of them. As for the radio, I would only be guessing.

doesn't make sense that they'd sell a radio thats this new syn stuff, but w/a rcvr thats not. the radio is w/o a doubt, lookin at the advert. so new not on futaba's website. the rcvr is the ? mark, i'm goin 2 chk w/them.

solves that issue, radio is, but receiver isnt. so whateva crystal is in the box the radio will have 2 switch 2 it. not what i'm lookin for. guess i'll go w/the mx3s.

radio is synth, receiver is not. they did it to keep costs down i guess.

Well it is nice that the synth will work with older rx's then.
So say you have 4 cars.. no more swapping crystals just swap to that channel and go.

I guess you wouldn't really need a synth rx if you could switch the TX to any crystal freq

eh, but i only want 1, max 2 if i live w/myself and my budget, car. and i dont wanna be buyin 2 extra crystal sets 2 race

I was interested in this radio for touring car racing, It's right about what I can spend and to me it looks pretty good, but I'm no expert. Any opinions?

i use that one too CorradoPSI, i love it. a lot of options and easy to use. just get a battery pack instead of AA's

actually i use 1800mah rechargable AA's

then i tape my battery door shut so it can never come off at the wrong moment. i just use the charging jack. all my radios are set up that way.

Well the rechargable are a lot better than alkaline AA's, would end up spending a bunch of money on replacing AA's.
