Hey guy have any of you tried the Fusion Battery pack from fusionbatteries.com? If so how did they work for you? I just ordered up 4 set of the battery packs to see if they were any good. Thanks in advance. I am actually waiting for my package of batteries to get here right now.

zoeybadm, the only thing that I can see that I do not like about the fusion batteries is the heatsinks that are on the battery bars. I have never had to worry about how hot my batteries got. Plus by those heatsinks stick out there like a sore thumb, it is just that much easier for a wrench or some other object to short out your batteries. I myself run KMR batteries: www.kmrbatteries.com

I've been using the fusion batteries since the Cleveland race.
There great.
I use them in my rc12l3 touring, and in my tc3.
just fine. never had a problem with the heat sink either.

Wardo, if my batteries are getting hot enough for me to worry about them, then the chances are the pack is going to be on its way down the tubes. I just charge them, run them, and discharge them. Nothing special, no tricks, just charge and run. Just like a brushed motor, batteries deteriorate, so when I think that my packs are fading then I replace them.

I ran all four batteries today in my T4 using the Epic P2K pro motor and found the batteries to be of excellent build (i.e. they just drop right into the battery tray without having to be pushed down). Also the IR of the batteries is very low compared to the Trinity Matched GP 3300 cells.

I was very happy with the batteries so I ordered up four more packs and I will get them tomorrow...just in time for the start of my local point series race.

So heat hurt them?

Heat hurts batteries, yes.

Over dischargin them can be the worst if not done properly. Most overlook that. You should NEVER discharge below .9v per cell. NEVER! If you use a light bulb dimmer and have no way of knowing, then I suggest pulling them off as soon as the bulbs start to dim. Equalizing trays/dischargers with voltage cutoffs are probably best to have. Fortunately, my charger has a preprogrammed cutoff when discharging of .9 v per cell. This alone is a HUGE bennefit.

After your runs it is best to let both the motor and the batteries cool down before discharging your battery pack.

Heat = Bad !

The answer is yes.

well the official first race report with the Fusion batteries is that they are good. I ran them in my local point series race and broke the stock truck record. The old record was 9/5:00.24 and the record is now 10/5:18.43 (I also spent about 10 seconds on a pipe because a turn marshal was drinking a pepsi and I can't :argue: from the drivers stand.

Oh yeah and I lapped the Sportsman Nitro field twice again in the A-main to win and break my former record which was 18/10:04.08 to 19/10:24.18.

It was a joke. My point was, anything to help keep NiMH cells cooler, longer is better.

I go to .8 volts a 20 amps then discharge each cell to zero.

You take them down to zero?

Just and update on these packs I got - A WHOPPING 3,947 mAh on the initial 1 amp (4.5 hour) charge! AMAZING!

I will open them up tomorrow morning on the track and let you all know how they fair out there.. I'm expecting awesome results.

zapped.....zapped.....zapped.....zapped.....zapped.....

How much did you pay for each set of packs? Assuming of course you do not mind me asking....

lol - honestly, I dont know exactly what I did pay for them. Bought a lot of crap that day. I think they were around 45 a pack. I think.

Ill call and get you a price if you want. They are good guys at my LHS.

I can also give you the full ratings rundown and some pics if you want.

Yes, zero. Well actually .01 I still use an old school Victor Engineering Super HI IQ charger. I just hook the leads across the cell and let her rip. It will not discharge at a high rate at all, maybe like .1 amps. and it doesn't heat the cell at all.

I rate my packs just about every week and would do it to a pack that had poor numbers 3 times in a row and it would make it better. I do it 99% of the time to all packs now.

I just relised who Zoey was. The guy that wanted to know if it was legit that GP sent out special 1.17 cells......:egad:

Am I missing something here??

No, just a general statement on your posts about heat and packs, then look back a month and see what your knowledge was, that is all.
