Thats true it will cause drag and if its causing drag on one side then its reasonable to assume that it could make it veer to the side that has the bent dogboneit will cause drag kinda like the bent side will have slower rotation of wheel then cause bearings to fail along with diff gear failure.whats ur skill level. can u unbend it ?.copper or nylon face small hammer like a jewelers hammer.
and what else? so yesThats true it will cause drag and if its causing drag on one side then its reasonable to assume that it could make it veer to the side that has the bent dogbone
Ok, first things first. If you have s bent dogbone, straighten it out. If your car is pulling to one side start checking your bearings.Quick question on my brushed rc, if the front dogbone is slightly bent, will it veer to one side going forward
I was just contemplating the idea that the extra drag produced may cause the kit to veer to one side. The fact that it may be producing extra drag had not occured to me... Does there need to be something else or can I just agree with you?and what else? so yes
Checking bearings is also a good idea!Ok, first things first. If you have s bent dogbone, straighten it out. If your car is pulling to one side start checking your bearings.
Only beginner,I'll try hammer thxit will cause drag kinda like the bent side will have slower rotation of wheel then cause bearings to fail along with diff gear failure.whats ur skill level. can u unbend it ?.copper or nylon face small hammer like a jewelers hammer.
When you have it torn down make sure to check your bearings. If the car has seen any mud or water, the bearings at the wheels will be the first to go. Also look inside the cups the dogbones sit in for debris or anything that may have caused it to bend.Only beginner,I'll try hammer thx
OK don't think it has bearings, universal upgraded dogboneWhen you have it torn down make sure to check your bearings. I dont always disagree with you. Case and point above, but even if we dont agree on some opinion or personal preference its not a personal attack on you, We just disagree. No need to be so combative.LOL you can't agree with anything I say U always have to dilute it butt thats ok..
Dog bones are made from steal. So NO way shape or form. Will a copper/ nylon jewelry hammer be able to bang out steal. The copper and nylon are way to soft compared to steal. The copper will just indent the shape of the dogbone shaft and the nylon is like hitting it with plastic. Neither will work on steal. Maybe if you had a harden nylon or harden polly hammer but NOT a jewelry hammer sorryit will cause drag kinda like the bent side will have slower rotation of wheel then cause bearings to fail along with diff gear failure.whats ur skill level. can u unbend it ?.copper or nylon face small hammer like a jewelers hammer.
You can straighten a dogbone with a nylon hammer. That's what I use. Nylon is really tough material and will deliver a soft blow without marring the metalNo bearings? It has to or bushings aleast. Did you bend tie rod? Like it was said above. Just take it out and beat it with hammer. Depending on the material used for the dog bones probably steal. Will determine what type of hammer to use. If steal. The Cooper polly head jewelry hammer will just indent and do nothing . As it's softer then the steal. I would use a welders pin hammer or a small ballpoint hammer. Or any small head steal head hammer. To bang it straight or you can heat it up and bent it back in a vise....

Oh cool maybe because it's such a small diameter pc of steal. I did say a harden nylon or even a harden polly hammer would probably work...You can straighten a dogbone with a nylon hammer. That's what I use. Nylon is really tough material and will deliver a soft blow without marring the metal![]()
Well no one should be pounding the dog bone with a hammer. Of any kind or you will go from bent to flat. ( -----You can straighten a dogbone with a nylon hammer. That's what I use. Nylon is really tough material and will deliver a soft blow without marring the metal![]()
I agree. A new one would be best. Once it has bent, it will be softer and bend more easily from then on. But I have straightened many a dogbone in a pinch to run until new ones arrived. In all reality he really should just get new ones. Cause you will never get them perfectly straight again.. very close though... And will always wobble off center. But there is definitely something else causing it to veer to one side. That's not a bent bone causing that to happen.... IMO..
Just bump the kerb/pavement or sidewalk if American a few times nothing majorI agree. A new one would be best. Once it has bent, it will be softer and bend more easily from then on. But I have straightened many a dogbone in a pinch to run until new ones arrived.
And I agree and think there is probably something else causing the issue. It is possibly what caused the bent dogbone in the first place.
