I will start the build tonight, still up in the air about a servo, i have a traxxas 2070 that i had from one of my trucks i may use until i can afford a savox servo. :D
Thanks Again Woodie and RCNT, There will be alot of RCNT promoting on this truck. More build pics to come.....now i have to go finish my yard work :\

This makes me want to get an official "kit" and build another one, I can't wait to see how this one does on the tracks i run on.

MMMmm yeah those are fun trucks!!! Is that Losi's new SC release or the original XXX?

Either way she is sexy and can't wait to see her rippin!

I'm thinking of buying the xxx-scb myself. My lhs has one on the shelf. Only thing is it has a brushed motor and would be my first electric rig. Anyone have or had one of them and got any feedback? That SCT looks cool as heck! can't wait to see her complete and painted.

a fellow racer of mine had the scb at the last race for sale for 100 bux brand new, i thought about buying it but didnt have the room for it, my stable is full at the moment.he ran it in the open class and won the main with a brushed motor.

Finally got to start on the installation of the electronics on the XXX.
I used a steering servo i had here from one of my other trucks, it was a traxxas 2070 digital, thought about a savox, but right at the moment this seemed to be the best choice.

Insallation was easy and had no problems with the install or centering.

Have the electronics mounted to make sure i wasn't going to have any problems with the way i wanted to install them.

Will most likely move to a kevlar spur gear since these are nown to melt with brushless systems.

Will post some more later today, i have some soldering and final mounting in my history today since its raining. :D

Truck is complete minus the paint, ran a pack thru it at mostly WOT,after 15 minutes of run time the temp was 131, still have a little room to gear up but i think its WAY fast enough. The dualsky Z5 10.5T Motor and track and field XC550TF-MJ ESC is a great combo,They can be found at www.CKHOBBY.com, Mike is a great guy to deal with and always available to answer questions, here are the last pics until the body gets painted and when i start doing upgrades.

Notice the black on the counter in the 3rd pic, thats what happens when you forget to set the failsafe on a dualsky 10.5T motor and it trys to take off!!

looks great ! can't wait to see the final paint job !!!!! post some video when you get it done!

Change out your spur gear for a kevlar gear...

If/when you start breaking a-arms, replace them with EA3 or graphite parts. The rtr plastic has an unbelievable amount of flex to it. The little connecting link from the steering servo to the steering rack should be replaced, as well as the bushings in the steering rack, I also put in an aluminum STRC steering post kit, it takes the flex out, and the steering is much better after that.

Well I finally had the body painted, and i have to say, i like it alot, nothing fancy but i think it looks good, hopefully by the time i need another body i will have my airbrush, i have the compressor just need to pick a good "low cost" air brush to try my hand at it, i dont wanna jump and buy an expensive one in case i suck at it.....here is the paint job.

It is definatly Fun, I have a 2wd lcg slash and its like night and day, this one handles so much better, i think i will run this one for the rest of the year and build the new 22sct over winter so i can see the difference in the 2.

Your right about the xxx, it handles so much better than the slash. I just completed mine with an Orion vortex 4750kv motor and an Orion 100 amp esc.

Looks really good. I have the losi scte and compared to the slash I have, it's like a Ferrari compared Yugo in quality. I'm sure the xxx is the same way. I just bash the slash now.
