Anyone know anything about this rc boat? I got it for free said it had been on the shelf no charger just a dead battery. it’s pretty big scale more than 3 feet long. anyone got a link to a charger for the battery or a new battery to see if this thing works.

looks like a 6 cell Nicad. old school id up grade to a 2 cell lipo with deans or a Xt 90 plug. not really sure what that connector is looks like some sort of T plug . Id solder new connectors on that esc and battery use some heat shrink tube also. that goes on b4 soldering.. many chargers could charge that battery its 6 cell more than likely it will need whats called a shock to destroy any crystals it has in it
the name and # is that boat.

Seems to be a typical Chinese entry level hobby grade boat. I've never seen that type of battery connector before, but if you can solder, you can get more common connectors to replace it with. Once you replace the connector, you should have no problem getting a cheap wall charger.
First order of business is to make sure everything works. Unless you can find a wall charger that has that same connector, get something cheap, like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/114640770177?hash=item1ab11f5481:g:2cIAAOSw1rBgAo1-
You will also need a female Tamiya connector to replace the one that's on the boat. It would be simpler to snip the connector off the original battery and solder the female Tamiya connector to this. The original nicd battery is not worth saving.
Once you get everything powered up, see if everything works. If everything works, then you are all set! If not, you will have to decide whether it's worth the money to get it running again.

if your going to change connector cut 1 wire at a time..also lube flex tube what the motor and prop is connected 2

i used to play with rc cars all the time would this battery from these cars work? it says 7.2v still but 5000mAh and the connectors are for the traxxas speed control

Yep, the mAh is just the capacity (how long you can run something). The voltage(7.2) is what needs to be the same or close.

Nice score. Upgrade and have fun.

yeah thanks for the help it worked both motors was running strong. Now i gotta seal it all up. what would y’all suggest to do for the leaks? clearly somebody had some problems in the past with it.

I've heard that people tape the entire seam of the hull when running the boat

what about for the little water coolers for the motors they are broke out of the bottom. Silicone or what kind of sealant should i use?

all i got right now is some tub tile caulk but if that won’t work i’m gonna have to wait till tomorrow to go get the right silicone.
