Sooo, I`ve been waiting for a chance to hit my lhs to grab a selection of CB's and spurs for my Jato n Revo, Made it in early Saturday which is kinda lucky cuz I usually work weekends and never seem to make it there b4 closing any other time. Well I managed to round up a few Revo CB's and prerequisite bearings to go with (Nothing for my Jato :() Browsed around a little and wound up w/this and a jug-O-20% instead of waiting for Jato parts.

Aside from a tough initial startup (About 6 pulls), Which was actually easily rectified by opening the throttle slightly with the trim knob. I was really pretty surprised by this one after break-in and a few adjustments.
I found it waaay harder to roll/flip while cornering than my Revo or Jato and after a little more runtime and a bit more tuning got it doing wheelies down my driveway.
Aside from the dayglo orange paint-job (Which does kinda grow on you) and the antenna routing (It's kinda vulnerable being exposed between front and rear wheels, could easily get cut by kicked up rock/debris) I`ve so far got nothing really negative to say about it.
Thanks HPI

Cool looking rig. What HPI is it? I like it.

It's the Bullet ST 3.0, it's new in the states but has been in Europe for a while. I think the only problem people are having is finding replacement parts, HPI is slacking on stocking spares. They do seem to be pretty solid rigs though, and they're only about $75ish more than a Traxxas Nitro Rustler, I think it's worth it for the 4x4 and waterproof.

4x4, Nitro, Waterproof annnd HPI...
Thats what sold me, The only 2WD in my garage is my Jato (Currently shelved while I wait for lhs to restock my parts 2/3 more days.. Even though I got something to fill the void while I wait, I STILL miss it):\

Its basically got the same buggy/truggy chassis layout that has been around for years which is fine but I wonder why they decided to flip flop everything from the traditional layout.

Still keeping my eyes open for a Losi 5ive, not having much luck saving anything though.
I think I'm gonna have to stop driving the rigs I have so I don't break anything, That might keep me outta the lhs till I have enough $ to get me one.
Anybody thats driving losi 5 have any reasons NOT to get one?

Haha, I'm in the exact same boat, I bash so hard that I can't keep my rigs running long enough to save up for a new rig or major upgrades. I've only heard great things about the Losi 5ive, we've sold 2 and haven't had them come back with any issues. They are huge and the layout is (from what I've heard and read) much easier to work on than the Baja, Losi kept the racer in mind.

This is true for me as well. If i could keep from buying crap for the one i bash now i could have already bought the kit losi 8T i want. Not saying it would be complete but at least have the kit itself.

I did it again..

Here's a story for ya, I went to my lhs to FINALLY pick up my CB's/Bearings and a selection of Spurs for my now dusty JATO. As I'm looking through the parts bins, a fairly young guy comes over to the counter w/a MT2-G3 in his hands and is asking about parts for it, well tail end of the conversation I manage to catch is it'll take like almost 2 weeks and $120.00 for this thing to be ready for him to drive again. Turns out he just wants the front diff r&r. Guy kinda balks about the cost and timeline and is walking out the door the same time I am. Well, we get outside and as he's walking past me I ask him whats wrong w/it, EXACTLY.. He says he's not quite sure but thinks he needs a new front differential. So I asked him if I might take a look @ it, N.P. He hands it over to me and I begin my assessment by slowly rotating the front wheels, yep, there's a skip in there. Yeah, You're right I tell him I think it's the diff gears also, well after discussing what it actually takes to replace the gears in the diff I can tell he wants more than anything to drop the $120.00 and let the lhs guy do the work for him. During the conversation I mention the HPI Bullet to him and he tells me that he'd seen them and REALLLY wanted to get one of those but couldn't afford it, well, I tell him I`ll give him $120.00 for the MT2 right now and he's like "Really?" Yep, for sure.. Soooo, I managed to scoop myself yet another addition to the garage and @ the same time managed to get buddy the x-tra $ he needed to grab himself a Bullet.
Soooo, LOSI 5ive is again that much further outta my reach.
ARGHHHHH!!!!
Oh yeah, HPI part #86014 - 13/10 Diff bevel gears $7.00 (In Stock) @ other lhs to get this thing rolling again.:D
