I believe that was a HPI Baja 5B or what ever you call it. Is the rovan the same?

Baja is just the layout/form of chassis, like a monstertruck and buggy. Whether it's KM, HPI or Rovan, it's still a baja.
Like calling a tekno buggy a buggy, but when the same platform is made by AE, you call it a cybertruck

That brushless motor sounds a little funny to me....
