Last night around midnight I took my Slash out for her maiden voyage, it was great. I drove it down our street did a donut and came back, when it got close to me is was making a loud ratchiting poping sound, so I shut it down. Basically it makes the noise in forward and reverse, but when i spin the wheels with my hand it is fine. Does anyone know what i wrecked? I have a feeling she is going to come apart. I don't think i did anything wrong, i was hitting dirt jumps and pulling donuts on a gravel road, and driving it up and down a paved street.

Remove the gear cover and have a look.

Motor may have shifted and damaged the spur.

Yea, if you didnt adjust your spur mesh before you drove for the first time, it is probably stripped now.

ahh poo. I'm such an amateur. thanks for the input

Took the cover off and had a look, the spur gear had some pieces missing, also when i spun the gear without any pressure on it it has a wobble, should I change the shaft?

Try it with just a new gear installed, and see how it's going, the gear itself might just be warped.

Were the motor screws loose at all?

no the motor screws were tight, there was some soil jammed in between two of the teeth on the spur gear which caused the problem I think.
