Hey Guys,

I know this is no real big deal, but I am excited about it. I took the T4 out yesterday for the first time this year. It was great! I started last out of 5 cars in my first qualifier and finished 2nd. Started my second qualifier on the outside pole and finished 2nd, and was a straight away from finishing first but spun out at the last minute. My third qualifier was not as good, finished 4th. Qualified on the outside pole for the A main.... now this is only club racing, but it was still competitive and a blast! I ended up finishing 3rd but I was hanging in there and had a chance for second, but the marshall got my wheel caught up in her IPod cable and held me up a bit. Anywho it was a blast and to walk up to a track I haven't run this year, and with a truck that hasn't seen dirt ever, I think I did ok. It was a blast man.... going wheel to wheel with these guys was great. Just thought I would share.

Cool man...glad to hear you had a good time.....sooooo tonight you will have to soak in the tub and drink wine and tell your wife with the stories of how you almost won the big one...:ahh:

Just teasing you.....great job....now go out there and WIN something next time.

Glad to hear you had fun.
RobMob took 1st place on his maiden voyage with his new FT TC4 yesterday. It was on rails.

Racing sure adds to the fun of RCs.

Nice to hear stories about you guys having fun at the races.

got caught up in her IPod cable? I didn't realize marshaling was so boring...

Thanks Guys. Ed you are right... racing sure does add to the enjoyment of the hobby. The guys I raced with were cool guys too. They shared their setup info and even gave me some pointers on how to set mine up. I love this hobby! Next time I will win it all! LOL Now that the deck is done, I have a bit more time on the weekends to get out there and race. Thanks guys!

Tom

P.S... Congrats on the win Robmob!!

Its nice when the track folk are friendly. I have been to a few place where I just pickup and leave after the first heat. Some places are just not fun due to the attitude of the "Regulars".

We have turn marshal issues at our track as well. I'm not sure what they are thinking when they are out there. We have one guy that just goes when he sees a car out. On more then one occasion he has been hit and has stepped on cars. Then you get the guys that just stand there looking when a car is on its top. Not sure what they are looking at but its the one that needs attention. Robs 18th sat on its lid within arms reach from a marshal for over a lap. Then theres the guy that places my 10th nose first into the track divider and walks away or better yet, Just pulls the car from the track instead of putting back on.

I guess if we don't crash turn marshals wouldn't be an issue. Its not their fault we are bad drivers but it sure would be nice if they paid attention.

Its all part of the day. Take it as it comes.

I know what you mean. In my head I was yelling... "C'mon, C'mon!" but it was not that big a deal, and I was not upset. Just kinda frustrating. It was just a teenager marshalling and she didn't seem to have any kind of urgancy. Like you said, it is all part of racing, and if I had kept it off my lid it would not be an issue. LOL I know I have not always been paying as close attention while I was marshalling. I was always busy watching the race! I now pay much closer attention... and try my best to be as fast as possible while marshalling.

In my main race with my touring car, a guy stepped out onto the track to turn marshal another car. He stepped right in front of my path and I slammed into his foot. Luckily I suffered no damage and continued. Later in the race he did it again, but this time I saw him and was able avoid his foot.

Luckily for him it was an electric and not a Nitro or he'd be in a world of hurt. I don't know about some of these turn marshall's sometimes. Luckily no damage done to the car... just your lap times! I am sure I made the same mistakes too though. I used to panic when it was my turn to marshall and the guy was yelling at me to get his car back on the track... I have steped into traffic before. I have learned now to wait until all tracffic is gone before I stepped on the track. Still frustrating and helpless looking on from the drivers stand with your car on its lid though.

Doing pretty good Tom.
Take the wife with ya the next time to help the little girl with her Ipod cable??

Congrats to you Robmob.
Sounds like both of you are having a good time.

Thanks Dig! It was a blast. Even though my racing oportunities to race will be few, I was happy just to get out and give it a shot. It is addictive though! Running up front is such an adrenaline rush! Take care my friend, nice to hear from you.

You mean they're not supposed to end up on their lid? (lol) I very rarely end a lap cleanly. I either play bumper cars with the rail or take a turn too fast with the 18t and slide on the lid for a while. Thank goodness I'm the only one on the track.

What I need to do is just put a lower profile body on it, then put taller tires on it, so when I flip I can keep in the gas and keep on going! LOL

Tom

racing gets better and better every time you go..

speaking of that i haven't raced in awhile! lol last time i raced was in December and it was 1/12 stock..
