I know man, the only track is in enfield which is 1:30 hour away. Pretty far...

Edison and Middle town are 1:30 hours away too. Same distance.

Well, if you want. There will be times, like tomorrow, where we get together during the week because of Nitro deprevation at Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn. Well, tomorrow will be the first time. You are more than welcome to go there with us. Even if it's just thetwo of us. I work in the evenings so my days are free.

It's a big area where a track is usually laid out with fire hose. Good for practicing and just hanging out. Let me know if you would loke to go.

Whats the address, I know I can't come tommarow, maybe next week on friday or sat.

Well, there's no address. It's called Floyd Bennet Field. It was the first airport in NYC now it's a Federal Park. It's real easy to get to, just let me know how you usually get to the JFK Airport and we can take it from there with the directions.

Diver is correct. The Lola body will fit, but you will have to trim the bumper.

Welcome to RCNT,
Nice car you got there :D
Here are some baby pictures of your child being born into this world.
Look at them, and read this thread while your waiting for the UPS driver to kick it up to your front door. https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11800&highlight=MTX-3
There is a lot to learn and some great reading in this thread.

Good luck to you and your new rocket ship.

Can you give me a link to where I can buy a new bumper so I have an extra?

Here is one place that I have done business with in the past.
You may want to contact our member RushRC he can get most anything at a reasonable price.

Honestly, you may want to hold off on getting a bumper. If it comes down to needing a new one you will need MANY more parts as well.

What do you mean?

I said I wanted a new bumper because i'll have to trim the current one to fit the lola.

That means i'll need another bumper when I get another body..

Eddy is trying to say that ,Since your not used to the car, u may crash or break something else. But for Mugen parts, go to www.nitrohouse.com if rushrc can't get it for ya.

I dont think i'll crash it ( I hope I dont)

I'm pretty experianced with off road buggys, I own an Mbx-4 RR w/ WS7 II engine so I'm not exactly a begginger to rc in genrall.

I'll be using

Nova-Rossi (Mugen) Mr-12 ( Should be a kickass engine, I hear it puts out around 1.3 HP. I'll probably get the Nova Rossi X-12 or another similer Nova Rossi engine later on.

The Rex pipe should be fine, i'll probably get an adapter for the pipe/manifold.

I'll be using the a Hitec servos. One is a 592mg. I'm unsure about the other but its high torque and to be used as the brake/throtle.

I'll probably tweak out the gears after I get used to the car.

I plan on using O'donnal 30%, it has been my favorite fuel for a while.

I plan to have a really fun time with this car over the summer.

I use the same engine in mine and it does move. IThere is a difference in driving an on-road compared to off-road. You'll see what I mean when u run it. I use Trinity Platinum 35% in mine. The guys here think I'm nuts but I like it.

Why? Because its 35%?

I thought i'd be using 20% in this engine but Ed said he broke it in with 30%.

30% wouldnt be a problem right? Should I just do a small break in to 20%?

I'm a complete noob with .12 engines.

I emailed Ed this but i'm worried.

They're two versions of his Hitec servo. One is for Futaba radios (J connector)and the other is for Airtronic, JR, and Hitec radios ( Z-connector)

I have a Futaba Magnum radio/reciever and if in fact the servo using the Z connector is there anything I can do or am I screwed?

I looked for an adapter but came up empty.

Thanks

Just shave off the tab on the side. Your only other option is to take the wires out of the plug and replace with a z connector plug. I just shaved off the tab with an exacto knife.

No no, Futaba Uses the J connector, not the Z.

Can I still shave off the Z connector to make it fit it in J connector?

EDIT: i'll probably rip off one a J connector off one of my spare Futaba servos and hook it up to the servo.

I thought it was the Z connector without the tab, correct? If that is the case, just plug it in. No modifications will be necessary. The taper on the side of the tab will only go into the receiver in one position. I may be wrong because I don't have the servo's in front of me. If necessary, replace the tab.

Lift the locking tab on the connector just slightly with the tip of an exacto knife and the wire should pull free. Don't bend it too far up or it will snap.

ok thanks, but yea... The J connector has the tab, which means the Z probably doesn't have the tab..

It sounds like it will fit fine, either way I can replace the tab..

Thanks.
