Ed says I might have problems with the clutch. Supposibly it might not shift to 2nd gear until I make ajustments.

Can anyone confirm this?

Oh, so you're the one who bought it from Ed. What did he say about the shifting? The clutch on the MTX-3 is a centax clutch so you might have to adjust that for the rpm engagement. The shifting of the 2speed might have to be reset to the stock settings then take it from there. Ideally, you're looking for about a 40-50 foot shift for a short track with about a 150 foot straight. I have about a 50 foot shift on my serpent which is fine for my driving and track.

What you're looking for is the most power coming out of a turn then shifting into second for the race to the turn. In a smaller track with lots of turns, you'll be using first gear most of the time. It's all a give and take. There has to be some compromise but what's important is that you tune the car and shift points to the track.

Read the manual and put everything to the stock settings. I'm pretty sure it's already there since Ed didn't run it too much. Just double check. Always good to have a baseline to judge by.

What I said was until the engine is broken in and tuned it may not shift properly. You will need to adjust it properly for your driving. You will also need to adjust the clutch to your driving style. It not a standard shoe clutch like your off road. It uses a Centrex clutch that needs to be adjusted.

I believe I also explained that you will need to keep an eye on the thrust bearing on the end of the clutch bell. Make sure there isnt to much or to little play.

Youll figure it all out.

I'm sure i'll figure it out but isnt the clutch already on defualt settings?

So, all I have to do is change it back to defualt unless it already is and then tune the engine to the correct temp and i'll be all set?

Got the car.

Excellent condition, I couldn't be happier.

I started it in my drive way just for laughs.

It started with no hassle.

I'll post some pics soon.

Cool.
I ran it just before I sent it.
You should be on the rich side.

I have always been picky about the condition of my RCs. With that said and with it not even being broken in, I can say its in close to perfect condition. When selling an RC I have learned to under state the condition to be on the safe side.

Was it packaged well enough? :D

CHARGE THE BATTERY!!!!!!

Get nitro on that white carpet and youll get your ASS KICKED :D

Well we bought brand new carpet last year so that carpet is actully the remains of the carpet we ordered. There was some extra :) We just slapped it on top of the actual carpet so it can get as dirty as it wants :)

I started it up again today in my drive way just to feel it out.

Anyways,

The car seems way to slippery, perhaps its because the tires are so stiff.

It says 45 shore on the tires so I'm thinking its to stiff or it needs a lot of tunning.

Who knows, maybe it was because of my driveways pavement.

Anyways, the car turned over easy, its way to rich lol :) I'll have to tune it later. Its no biggie

Anyways, like I said i'm a noobie for on on road so assuming its slipping so easy because the tires hardness or my pavement, if anyone could help me out it would be great.

Thanks

45 in the front and 40 in the rear to be exact.

EDIT: What do you guys think about rubber tires? Would I have a problem fitting them?

Thanks!

I will loosen the suspension.

I'm still waiting on the body, my order from ace-hobbies keeps being delayed!!

I'm sure it will help out.

Supposibly the paint can only be shipped with ground due to CA law and they dont have the starterbox in stock but he might get them in tommarow.

What about thew rubber tires?

Thanks again.

I found some nuts from my Mugen buggy I ordered a while back that didnt fit and they fit perfectly for the nuts to screw the tires in.
