  1. Bashing
Hello fellow RC Addicts. I've been into electric for about 3 years and am now deciding to buy a nitro rc. I dont know much about them only know that youtube will always be there for if i need help. But Id rather get my info on this awesome forum. I've been looking at the exceed rc nitro buggies but dont know if there is anything else or better for around that price, which is about $150. The max id spend would be about $300. I like going fast and bashing around. So I'm looking for something that is very strong, very fast, but yet still a good beginner nitro rc.

First welcome to rcnt! And welcome to the wonderfull world of nitro. Ofna buggies are fast agile and take a beating

Thanks glad to be here! Is there any specific ofna?

The lx series are the affordable ones but imo for what you wanna do one would be great for you, parts are readily available, the force engines are great rtr and ofna has always been a better quality brand

Yes it is, man I gotta tell ya thats not a bad price for a rtr,
All you need after is batteries, fuel and a good igniter, use the d battery igniter as a backup.

heres a link to one if this is what your talking about http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXBCVP&P=ML

That would be the one we are usually referring to. There are eBay sellers who have it for a tad less. A better value there is not. As was said, they are quick, handle well and are tough as nails.

Don't waste your time and money on exceed junk. It will only aggravate you and turn you off to nitro.

I've already found a beginners start up kit from nitrorcx and 20% traxxas nitro fuel at horizon hobby

There's much better fuel out there than traxxas fuel man, and I agree with deuce's statement about the exceed brand, a huge amount of people that knock nitro are the ones that just bought a cheap kit or a used one that looked like it had a good engine ect

What fuel do you recomend on a high schoolers budget?

Is the ofna also a good racer when it needs to be?

What is available in your area? There must be a lhs somewhere, best to see what they have available,
Byrons
Sidewinder ,are a good fuel

there is a horizon hobby certfied partner store nearby

does it run 20% nitro? and how much quarts of the byron fuel should i get?

$106 for 4 gallons of sidewinder basher fuel. and i just found out that there is a paved rc race track in the town i live in!

I use Byrons 20% 12%oil and it works great, I also thought that I would give the VP fuel a try which is 20% and 9% oil and it works great, my truck performs the same with the VP as with the Byrons, it just runs a little warmer. Thed byrons, at my LHS is 14.99 a qt whereas the VP is 29.99 for a gallon, so you get twice the fuel for the same price! My truck performed very poorly on the Traxxas fuel but some people have good luck with it.
