RC Driving Style
  1. Bashing
hello I'm just curious what would be a good first nitro rc for me. I'm into electric but i want a nitro rc i have a traxxas rustler vxl that goes around 65 mph atm so i am pretty shore that i would be able to controll a nitro mt going at 45 mph i have no experience with nitro rcs except for driving and looking at my friends hyper 7 and reading manuals of different nitro rcs. I’m looking for a fast reliable car/truck for bashing, running on an oval, on road, off jumps, on the beach and sometimes really rough terrain.

thanks

Scott

Traxxas. . .wait hold on a sec, do you want 2wd or 4wd???? If you are looking for a fast 2wd nitro i would honestly say, Traxxas Jato 3.3, 65+MPH right out of the box, but on the other hand if you want a 4wd, i would say the Revo 3.3, 45+MPH out of the box but with some gearing changes after break in you can get them up and over 50 mph with no issues. Just my :2cents: hope it helps

I'm mostley looking at a 4wd because i allready have a fast brushles 2wd rc do u have any other ideas what would bve a good first nitro rc + the grass at the oval is about 3 to 4 inches high not that i have got down on my knees and pulled out a ruler to measure how long it was.
thanks Scott

If your going to be running in grass that tall your going to want something like a tmaxx or revo. I recommend traxxas also mostly because of parts availability, but I think they make a pretty awesome product regardless...

Keep in mind if you run in grass that tall with a nitro you may be fighting temps more than you'd like...unless its gets packed down pretty well...

I've had my Losi LST2 for about a month and i LOVE it!! haha. It was easy to break in and pretty easy to tune. This is my first nitro and I've had no serious probs at all. It runs about 45 50 right out of the box. I dont know if your already sold on traxxis or not but this losi is built!! VERY happy with it!!

i would say revo 3.3 because if you are running in high grass all you have to do is bring the ride height up and your set. Keep in mind this is just my personal opinion

it always depends on what your going to be doing with it if your a "basher" that is to say if you like jumps and stuff like that then a hpi savage would be a better bet,the savage is one of the toughest trucks out there and thats not just my opinion its a fact as i've had both and by far the savage is a tougher truck but the t-maxx and revo are faster so its really up to you,i am so shocked no one mentioned the savage, my savage x has been the best of them all for me and to date i've had 6 different trucks/truggies..plus the savage has the ss kits which you build yourself and they come with alot of the upgrades you would be doing in the future anyway free in the box and by the time you get her built you will know your truck top to bottom!!and there pretty straight forward to put together and you have the bonus of knowing you built it yourself........
