Whats up guys. I'm new to the MT part of RC, I do mostly boats. From what I can tell most people stick with either the Tmaxx2.5 or the Savage.25, with the racers sticking to the Tmaxx and the Bashers sticking the Savage. I'm having some trouble deciding because I have never driven a MT so I dont know what I will like doing better.

I want a truck that is sturdy, reliable, and tough. Most likely I will be hitting the jumps and such, dont get me wrong, i like speed. Thinking this I'm leaning towards the Savage with my only fear being it isnt as fast as the Tmaxx. Can the Savage25 be ugraded to be as fast at the Tmaxx? Can the Savage still be upgraded as much as the TMaxx? How hard is it to put reverse in the Savage? Advice recmendations would help me a ton. I dont want to make a mistake and by the wrong truck for me. Thanks fellas!

One thread is enough...you don't need to post two threads in separate sections. ONE IS ENOUGH.

I know the Savage is a better basher out of the box, thats not what I'm worried about. I'm worried that ill get the Savage and not like the speed it has. If I get the savage can I upgrade it to make it atleast as fast as the Tmaxx2.5? Is the savage easier to upgrade because it has a big block engine?

the .25 savage is already dang close in speed to the maxx, and yes it can be upgraded pretty easily, I own a savage and love it, I was torn between the maxx and savage for the same reasons you are, my bro had a maxx and a savage, in my opinion the tmaxx can't even compare when it comes to reliability and strength.

That is so true. The Tmaxx can't match the reliability and the strength of the savage. I have both, Savage 25 Limited Edition and a TMaxx 3.3. The Savage is super tough and fast. The TMaxx is just fast. The first time I took my maxx out I wrecked the front end a-arms, bulkheads, skid plate, shocks and front bumper. Now that's crazy. I've been with my Savage for 2 years and the only thing I had to replace was 1 front a-arm. I just got a Axial .32. I want to see what the difference is going to be like. I'll keep you posted.

I have a Savage that has the three speed and a LRP .28 Spec 3.......I can keep up with ANY T-maxx that is not running a big block conversion. I have not had any parts breakage issues with either of mine; A 25 and and XSS. I went to Savages from a T-Maxx because I just got tired of play...fix....play...fix...fix...fix. Nickel and dimed me to death. Now mind you I was DAMN hard on the poor thing so go figure.....I would vote for Savage because I just think it is a better though out platform of a truck....and WAY tougher.
