First ever race!

ok, so last week i decided to buy an rc10t4 and race dirt oval at my lhs. i was planning on running edm but i can't aford a complete brushless system atm wich is wat everyone is running. so sunday i am racing in the truck class. went down there today ("yesterday" its past 12) and ran my truck one of the guys there let me borrow his truck i turned some decent laps with it. they said i was better than half the people in my class so we will see. lol i switched from my 1800 mah battery's to trinity 3600's i bought 2 i bought RPM "revolver" rims front and back. and duratrax "street trac" tires. same tires everyone else is running. i got some jaco 2.2 foums when i bought my truck so I'm bringing them as a backup just incase. i also switched from a standard batery connector to a "deans" style plug. they did the sautering for me free of charge. and also made me a standard to deans converter link for my charger. I'm set and excited for my first race. any setup tips you guys?

Good Luck and just have fun, look around and ask questions on what is working at your track, find out what spring and weight of shock oil the top guys are using also look at where they have the shocks mounted on the towers and a-arms, also find out what pinion and spur gearing is working well at the track, all these thing play into how well you will get around the track, well that and just learning how to drive.

ran yesterday. my friend stayed over at my place and we sat there for hours, trying to figure out how the car willl roll going into and out of the corners. found out that stiffening the right side loosens and stiffening the inside tightens. harden the front and it changes the entrance. rear changes the exit. we got a fairly close setup. lf green, rf silver, lr silver, and rr blue. i went out for practice with that setup. 2 laps into the open practice an EDM nailed me in the back snapping a ball end off my rear turnbuckle. after that was fixed i went back out. changed the springs around. fronts silver, backs blue. went out for my first heat. finished 3rd out of 5. loose comming out. made some spacer adjustments then went out for my 2nd heat. i didnt hear were i finished, but this time it was a little tight comming out. made some more adjustments and ran my main. truck handled great! started 5th and made my way into 2nd. i dropped back to 3rd after i flipped. came back up into 2nd and ended up a lap down from the leader. but when your turning 4 second laps one mistake will put you down a lap or 2. in all it was a great first day running again thursday!
