the source of my problem was a broke clutch spring. this is the second time that happened. anyone know why this would happen to me 2 times already. it like sheers the edges off of it and comes loose. what am i doing wrong??

Well.. if your sure that your putting them on correctly it might just be a coincidence. What car do you have?

buy a racing clutch, hpi makes one. it is adjustable and has a differant spring set up from stock, only one long spring that goes in a groove around the 2 BIG shoes. i emphasize big because the shoes on a racing clutch are huge compared to stock.

Jon, the shoes on these engines are huge compared to any other shoes I've seen.

Matt, I know your pain. I had the EXACT same problem with my buggy after I got it. I could never figure it out until I took the damned thing apart. When I pulled off the bell, the spring went flying across the room and hit my dad in the head (that was pretty funny )

Replace it and it should be just fine. Just make sure not to stretch the new spring, did that a couple times before I learned.

ohh my bad,not familiar with it,figured it was like most .15-.18s. is the racing clutch not avaliable for the engine? it would still cure his problem if avaliable?

i agree with what cuup says,, QUIT STRECH'IN THE SPRING..LOL.. also try to get the spring snug in the grove of the clutch so its not too close to the bell.

ok i got it. i might just buy another one just to be sure. its only a $2.99 part at my LHS. but ill def check up on the racing clutch.

thanks everyone

i just wish i look at that first before i spend day after day thinking i had a tuning problem ughhhhhhhhhh
