Okay, so my friend just bought a used jato from my LHS today and have a few questions about.

1.What is the difference between the 3.3 and 2.5 versions?
2.I unplugged the receiver to put in the new Hitec one and there is 4 wires. What is the extra battery one for?
3. Already have RPM arms and Lunsford Turnbuckles/tie rods on towerhobbies list, what other goodies should I get?

Oh and does any one have a 3.3 engine new or slightly used? PM me.

And last question, he got this jato with a Hitec Aggressor 3 channel brand new for 210. Good deal? It's got a 2.5 with good pop in it.

Pretty good deal if it came with the arms and lusnford. Not a bad deal otherwise.

I think the 3.3 is a bit longer, but my only reasoning for that is because I bought a 3.3 body off ebay and the mounting holes don't line up. They are about 3/8" longer than my 2.5 is so I had to elongate them.

The obvious is the 3.3 engine and the pipe is an open resonator. I bought that pipe for mine after I got it and it really peps up the 2.5.

I'm not sure if there are any other differences other than CB/spur tooth counts in their RTR forms.

Since you already have the arms and lunsford, I'd suggest finding or making an upper link to help support the front upper turnbuckles. I made one for both the front and rear of mine as they are a couple of weak spots that tend to snap off.

To help the brakes, get an alloy brake arm for the rear and a couple 5x8x2.5 bearings for the rear brake pivot. Hot racing sells a brake arm pretty cheap. This helps your brakes be less likely to fade and makes them generally better.

Here's a few photo's of my front/rear braces for the turnbuckles

Yes, I know they are completely hack and not good looking, but they do their job. After many tumbles and hard crashes, I have yet to have a problem with snapping the ears off the bulkhead or trans case.

The alloy brake arm:

I also did away with the ez-start. On a small rig like this, the extra weight of the ez-start is unnecessary. IMHO, they are a waste of time/effort for someone who can tune an engine to be relatively decent. My 2.5 in mine starts after a pull or two once primed.
