I lost count @ about 100 hours and that was a while ago. If you ask my wife she will say " A lifetime".

I found that I can’t rush the process. I’m dedicated to doing this project properly no mater how long it takes.

With my RC cars and trucks I can put a part together and move on to the next step. With wood I find myself having to put the project away until the next day while the glue dries.

Hunter, when will you post pictures of your new Biplane?

As soon as I find a job and get some extra money to buy a camera.

fast eddys 1938 chris craft

any full size prints on the pieces would be greatly appreciated. i would be willing to pay postage and your time in processing the full scale blueprints. if this is a wood kit- which it looks like- simply trace the parts before you install them on paper or cardboard like i do in case any parts or pieces needs duplicated in the future if damage was to occur. thanks nitrofish

This my first boat project, I guess this how we learn. I never would have even thought of doing that.

I have saved the wood sheets that the parts are cut out of, if this is of any value to you. I have a reduced set of blueprints that came with the kit as well as a set of photos on a large sheet and the building instructions.

When I am done with the project I can get a copy of them for you along with the cutouts.

If you have experience building boats I would love to have someone to aid me with questions I may have.

let me know.

to date i have built several r.c airplanes and 4 dumas boats.been a modeler since 1965.since planes got a little spendy (when crashed) i have kept my feet on the ground the last 3 or 4 years.any questions on the building aspect of your chris craft- gimme a holler. hopefully i can give you some insight and enjoy that new boat- nitrofish

A perfectly good conversation going along and here comes the :spam !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Nitrofish - who do you suggest I look to as a manufacturer for a battleship that I can add the electrics to? I dont mind building it at all. Just need to find the manufacturer.

Eddy - keep up the great work!

I really don't like the things you gave me chris(and you know what they are) :ban:

Before the top deck goes on I am working on the ****pit detail finish work. Its a bit of shifting gears from the hull construction I have been doing up till now.

I just got my first look at what the finished wood will look like and can't believe the depth of color it has.

At this point the construction speed will slow down. Every coat of clear protectant needs to dry for 24 hours before I sand and apply another. 3-5 coats will be applied.

Today I put Styrofoam in the front of the hull and installed the first half of the upper under planking.

Thats pretty fly

Whats the estamated time you will get finished?

Now I am building up the side rails. This is done by layering 7 strips of balsa together to make a lamanent sf sorts. After they are dry, I will sand them to the proper shape in preparation for the wood planking.

Looking good Ed, I would have screwed it up 5 times already and hit it repeatedly with a hammer by now
