Ya ever have one of those days where your functional IQ is like 50 points lower than usual?

Me not hav gud dae todae Daaaaa....which way diddee go?

The lid looks damn nice tony. Your first try too. That's crazy. I don't know if I'll ever get into this aspect of the hobby. It seems like a hobby inside of a hobby. I'll be one of those momos on ebay looking for something pre-cut and painted. :hehe:

Again, props on a job well done.

I'll remember that CandyMan.

lol candy - i think u and i are the only ones in this forum that paint bodies. We should hold a mini contest sometime in the future.

Competing will take all the fun out of it. I just like painting them up and posting them here. I seem to have a pretty good knack for it. If you've seen the last 2 I did (the Bug and the Speed 6), they are only the 2nd and 3rd bodies I've ever airbrushed. So I'm just getting the jones going. Getting 3 more shells soon to try a few other tricks on.

I paint bodies too, but haven't painted that many, I am in process of moving, so I won't get to paint again for a month or two.

kewl nitrodave - i was getting lonely, lol.

sorry candyman - i just have a competitive mindset. Makes me do better work, lol.

I got the masking laid out, and bought the paint for this new body i am doing for a friend.

it has a shattered, and cracked look to it, with tears coming up from the bottom. top of the car is being painted with faschange purple, then faschange blue, followed by a base or fascolor aqua. the torn up portion will have black edges, with faspearl silver fading into faspearl white. I hope the dual layer of faschange will work, we shall see. I hope to start laying down paint tonight, as long as it isnt raining.

well - i laid down the paint last night......

the color change came out great - so if u were wondering whether or not u can use faschange on top of faschange - yes u can. I also learned that by blowing it really hard, u can avoid puddling. I was shooting it at about 60psi.

alas - the other part of the car didnt come out so well, the cracks look good, but where i planned the silver to white pearl fade...the silver just looks the same, u can't see it at all, i dont think i laid it down dark enough. oh well, I'm sure the customer will still be happy, but I'm not. dont think ill post a pic, as it isnt my best work.
