the other day i fitted a failsafe to my gs truck, when i go to give it full throttle the brakes come on.the batteries are new so anyone any idea's.

You may have accidentally hit the servo reverse switch on your transmitter. What radio do you have?

the radio set that i have is a hitec ranger,so what are your thoughts skymax.

I am agreeing with SKYMAXX. did you try putting the brakes? I think you will find that the servo needs to be reversed!!

it works oppisite way around if i flick the reverse switch

what do u mean by reversed, turning it around or flicking the switch at the bottom of the handset

also when i slowly apply the throttle it starts to get the jitters

Reversing the servo is just "flicking the swtch " like you said. Glad it works. As far as the jitters that might be a tuning issue or even a reception problem between your TX and your RX. My Bros Rustler does that even if it is right next to him. I extend the antenna and it works fine. Later on, Jon

Most radios (including the HiTec Ranger series) have servo reversing built into them. I looked at the radio in question at HiTec's site and couldn't make out exactly where the reversing switch is, but there should be one for the throttle and one for the steering. Flip the one for the throttle and you should be good to go.

If you have more problems, it may have something to do with the failsafe device you have installed. Some of them don't work well with certain radios.

As for the jittery servo action, that is almost certainly an issue with the failsafe. There are a number of things that can cause a servo to glitch (the jitters that you see are known as glitching). One big culprit is a failsafe device that is not properly set up. Some others include external interference, vibrating metal-to-metal contacts, bad wiring, loose connectors, etc.

thank for the info skymax and jon2,i will have a mess with it and see what happens, thanks guys.

the brakes don't come on right away,i can drive the truck about it's just when i go to full throttle,i can drive around all day at half throttle but as soon as i go to full on come the brakes.i think that you thought it goes on the brakes as soon as i move the throttle,it's all working fine untill half throttle and above,so i don't think it as enything to do with switch reverse but thanks anyway, any moore ideas would be helpfull.

is there any way i can test a fail safe, ithink thats what my problem is.

I know that there are ways to test them, but since I do not run any failsafe devices (except throttle return springs), I am forced to let someone else, with more experience with them, answer the mail on this one.

You may want to check the directions that came with the device. They sometimes offer methods for testing.

sorted the fail safe out, went to model shop where it was from,it seems that they had a bad lot the fail safe was faulty, they changed it for a different one, thanks for help everyone, all sorted

Glad to hear you got a replacement for your Defective on. Can you tell us what makes them defective so we can look out for it in the future?

the brakes came on every time i tried to give it full throttle,it would drive all day at half throttle but not at full throttle,

ok thanks. what type faildsafe was this? And what model please! Just to warn other members of this and if it happens to them then they can take action like yourself!!

the fail safe was a b.m.i and the truck was a 2 week old gs storm unlimited truck, and what a truck,i put on another fail safe but another make and it seems ok now.

BMI? please specify the model of failsafe if possible. thanks Focus

it just says bmi on the pack and it was a intaligent fail safe and over here it was £17.50 not much more info really

i don't know the part number now that i've taken it back, sorry
