Will a failsafe be required for my electric buggy? I'm pretty sure if the battery pack dies out the motor won't be running anymore.

You won't need a fail safe for electric, the esc should stop if signal is lost.

I have been running electric rc for over 20 years and have never ran a fail safe, nor have I ever ran my car so far away that it lost the signal and I have driven my car prety dang far away from me. So like smaxxin said I don't see you needing a fail safe usualy the biggest problem you will have is you will loose your steering when the battery starts to die since the battery runs every thing in your electric rchave fun and when the battery starts to die stop driving and you should not have any problems..
