esc for my crawler

I pulled my mamba max out of my slash and putting it into my crawler, I'm trying to program it and dont have any idea what do on the graphs and where to set anything. I dont now if i could just plug it in and calibrate like that or if it would be better to do it on the computer?? what would be good setting for it?? Thanks

do it on the computer, and make sure your drag brake is set to 100%

ok.. what about the throttle and the reverse on it what would be a good setting for those??

I do 100% on all. Brushed reversing (assuming your running a brushed motor), you might do auto lipo if you running lipo, too.

Ya I'm running a brushed motor..do i mess with the throttle graph and the brake graph?? Or do i just leave them alone??

yea. leave the curves alone. you want that smooth even accel/reverse. lipo cutoff a must if running lipo

I tried to program my esc and it keeps telling me that its not connected. do i have to have a battery plug into the esc for it to work???

are you running a bec? If so, reconnect the red wire.

If you have a on/off switch on your mamba, turn it on too. Is it lighting up when you plug the it into the usb?

no, if it is a mamba max you just need a standard 5-pin usb cable.

as far as throttle curves go, i lean toward a negative logarithmic line. This gives me more control on the low end and builds wheelspeed quickly when i start to bury the trigger.

no I'm not running a bec and i took off the on and off switch and its not lighting up when i plug it in to the usb port

I'm assuming you have programmed it before since pulled it off your slash? or not? Its gotta be something small thats making it not link right, I havent programmed a mamba in a while so I'm not sure at the moment. Try it with the mamba not plugged into the rx too.

I dont have it plug into the Rx.. I'm going to buy a new usb cable for it cuz the one that i got with it i lost it..so maybe i dont have the right one with the 5-pin like flm savage said. so ill do that and then see what happens and if not ill just use my traxxas esc for now until i get a new speed control for it... will the castle creation sidewider work if i decide to get a new one? if so I'm just probably going to go that way..cuz my max work great in my slash..

Yeah the sidewinder will work great.

if you buy a sidewinder you will have to spend $20 on the castle link software to program it with your pc. I would take that extra 20 and just get a mamba max. You can find them all day long for 90-100.

i have one of those sitting at the house. feels nice and solid and you know HH is a quality product. I will be running it on 6S with a 14T puller so i will have a review posted in the next few weeks. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it for a brushed truck
